Evergreens beset with ribbons, lights and glistening bulbs are beautiful to behold, especially when each little ornament and swath of garland is carefully and lovingly placed. So it is with the close to 60 trees and 25 wreaths on display during the 25th Annual Lawrence Festival of Trees
through Thursday, December 1, at Liberty Hall (644 Massachusetts, 785-749-1972). The motivation behind the festival: to raise money for the Shelter Inc., a 30-year-old, local nonprofit organization that provides services and shelter for juvenile offenders and kids in crisis across the state of Kansas. The public may admire festive scenes between 10 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. today, Wednesday and Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Admission costs $3 for adults. For more information on donations and the auction of the trees, see theshelterinc.org
