Yelling "fuck you" at a cop can get you p-a-i-d. Just ask Scott Schaper, who scored $4,000 for dropping the f-bomb on an Olathe cop. Or ask the ACLU, which collected $1,000 in legal fees from the city of Olathe. It all started on September 11, 2009, when Olathe police officer Craig Lundgren stopped Schaper for running a stop sign. Schaper was driving his children to school. Seeing daddy in trouble with the law apparently upset the kids, who started crying. That set off Schaper, who let Lundgren know just how he felt as he drove away, ticket in hand. So Lundgren stopped him again and wrote a second ticket, for disorderly conduct. The ACLU's legal director got involved, and the city dismissed the ticket a month later, the second ticket having violated the First Amendment. Everybody wins, though, because Olathe actually got off cheap. The city of Pittsburgh settled a similar case in 2009 for $50,000.
