I once saw Mike Yeager stir a whiskey drink with a rusty nail. He threw the whiskey on the floor and ate the nail.

BORN FROM FUNK...
Years ago, funk was born. It spread to the people and jived around the world. A funk brought to the people straight from the soul train. As the years passed, funk was being overlooked in the music world. It has been passing on through some pretty great bands over the years, but the funk has been hurting to shine in the prime. The funk gods assembled and discussed their plans for their trek the regain the world. They found it fit to send a man of their word to the people. The man was more than a person with two first names, he was known to be one of the funkiest prophets of this generation.
So the funk gods called for the mothership to send the afrolicious Zach Jackson to Earth.
Somewhere along his journey to send the funk, Zach Jackson's ship came across a black hole. The ship was spit through and made it without a scratch, but what happened inside would change things up completely. Zach Jackson was separated into two people. Zach Bozeman and Jack Norman. The ship hit Earth, and in a dusty confusion, the two were lost from each other. Throughout their lives, they've been on a quest that they started together in the stars in space.
Now that Zach and Jackson have found each other, they use the power of funk to fuse together. They are joined by a powerful crusade of funky ninjas. Evan Rennell keeps the bass thumpin while Jacob Lee-Brockhoff tops of the funk with his shredded jams. To get the funk across, they mix in many genres to their core. Happiness can be found in a funky jam!
The show was excellent! Great music from start to finish. Energy was very high and the guys put on a great show! I suggest you catch the Casey Brett Band when you can.. You won't be disappointed.
The Roving Imp has changed locations, and no longer performs in Bonner Springs. They have moved to Lawrence, where they have a weekly Friday show in various locations throughout the city. You can find their current show at their website: www.rovingimp.com .
A great line-up of some very talented musicians.
The food is very good [and affordable], and the place has a very nice vibe.
Highly Recommended.
Excited to try the Obaminator IPA!!
Houston will also be reading the night before at Prospero's Books (1800 W. 39th St., KC/MO, 64111, 816-531-WORD) at 8PM. Open-mic after.
A must-see documentary by New York filmmaker Joan Grossman that celebrates the first artists' community that started in Kansas and became an icon for a global counterculture. An inspiring vision of what it really means to "think different" and follow your dreams.
Thought provoking, disturbing (in the very best way) and uplifting. So grateful for this show.
Dragon's Lair, Dig Dug, Centipede...wow! There are around 35-40 original stand up video games from the early 80's. I haven't seen an arcade like this since I was a kid. $5 unlimited play easily makes this the best value during Santa Caligon.
Good Times at Crypticon! Good People!
Played Crypticon 2011, had a blast
Frankie Campobasso
Load Point Pull & Under the Covers
ECO was amazing! Playing a nice long set and making the most of less than ideal acoustics. This was the first time I'd seen these ladies play, and they were awesome.
I love this group! They go off the audience suggestions, and it is hilarious! My favorite is the Good Advice / Bad Advice game!
Re: “Arm the Poor”
LOVE the back porch at Californos--so excited for Arm the Poor's new CD release this night!
