Re: “America's Got Talent at BarCentral

This place needs help. I went in for dinner after seeing a local advertisement, thinking I was in for a treat. Overpriced drinks, rude server. and the food was just as disappointing. I ordered a starter plate called the 6-pack.....it tasted like it was days old...limp not crunchy vegetables....Flatbread pizza was good....pork sandwich had stale bread, tasteless dry pork, and a sorry excuse for a BBQ sauce that tasted like they tried to copy Gates. Big waste of money.

Re: “External Combustion Orchestra

ECO was amazing! Playing a nice long set and making the most of less than ideal acoustics. This was the first time I'd seen these ladies play, and they were awesome.

Re: “The Kick Comedy

I love this group! They go off the audience suggestions, and it is hilarious! My favorite is the Good Advice / Bad Advice game!

Re: “America's Got Talent at BarCentral

The BARCENTRAL is a joke. The food is lame at best. Calamari was embarassing, greasy, chewy, breading falling off. The soup of the day tasted old and stale. The pulled pork tasted like a freezer and was dry. Mini rueben----Nothing more than an average rueben cut into 4 pieces....oh and 7 dollars for a warm gas station pretzel--you can get the same pretzel at a movie theater.....looks like they hired their chef from a bowling alley.

Re: “Summer Car Jam with Mark Farner, Shooting Star, Pat Travers, Black Oak Arkansas, Racy Grace

I agree with the first reviewer. Pat T and Farner were awesome, but Shooting Star was just amazing!! True, they had better lights, etc. as they WERE the headliner. But sounded just flat out good! Not that Pat and Farner didn't either. Shooting Star took it do a new level. Maybe it was because they were shooting for the new DVD that night? Good show guys!

Re: “Summer Car Jam with Mark Farner, Shooting Star, Pat Travers, Black Oak Arkansas, Racy Grace

@chris tilton ----sorry i gotta disagree with you. Shooting star just had the benefit of more lights and smoke and other special effects. BOA , Pat Travers, and Mark Farner actually rocked and gave the crowd its moneys worth. I had back stage passes to this show and in my opinion Shooting Star epitomizes every thing that was cheesy about 70s rock, but the other bands on the bill actually surprised me with their muscianship and dedication to their craft.

Re: “Summer Car Jam with Mark Farner, Shooting Star, Pat Travers, Black Oak Arkansas, Racy Grace

Pat Tavers and Mark Farner were very good but Shooting Star stole the show. They were as good as it gets and then some. Van and the whole band including Keith who was back for the first time since 2005 put on a show of a life time for all of Kansas City to marvel at. Please play more gigs so I can take my kids and friends to see what a concert sould be like. I have never seen the crowd at the old sandstone so into a show like last night. It gave me goose bumps and brought back memories of the glory days of the 70s 80s and 90s.

Saturday night Singer/Songwriter Chris Floyd made another stop on his sporadic acoustic fury tour. He played a few new songs and many fan favorites to a full house. Sorry you missed it. Try to catch him next time. You won't be disappointed.

Re: “Hearts of Darkness, the Grisly Hand

This was the first time for me to see Hearts Of Darkness. I have been missing out! Their concert Saturday was off the hook. They are amazing live. 14 piece band with so much going on. It is a site to behold. I see why the place was packed at Knuckleheads!

Re: “Pacific Dub, Katastro, the Dirty Rhythm Band

Katastro and Pacific Dub were great Tuesaday night. Katastro has such an orginal style. Ryan Weddle's bass lines are hypnotic along with the rest of the band. Pacific Dub's Bryce Klemer is one of the up and coming lead guitarists. This guy can really play. I saw these guys with Tomorrows Bad Seeds this past winter and the band has really jelled! Don't miss these guys the next time they come through.

Re: “Origins of Groove, Paul Roberts

I want to thank the audience and fans for making our Blue Debut a fantastic event. It was great to see so many of KC's fellow musicians in attendance.

I personally want to thank the band for sounding great as always.

I'll have to get us in there again, soon!

Thanks again!
