Re: “Kababesh Grill

Be careful if you plan to visit this place. Their rates change when you are about to pay the check. I have paid a ridiculously high price of $19.55 for a shitty buffet. The reason given was a long holiday (long holiday on last friday of October?...Really?)...and a special buffet while it was a regular buffet. Please check and confirm their rates before eating there else who knows I paid $19.45 you might have to pay $49.45

Re: “New Café Tandoor

I went to the restaurant on their opening night at around 6 in the evening. IT WAS A RIP OFF! The place was definitely NOT ready to be opened on that day. Forget that there was no ice for the water or that the credit card machine was not setup etc. but they barely had any food on the the buffet and we were still charged full price--a whopping $30.00 for two people! The only item that was of any quantity on the buffet was the goat curry, which suspiciously tasted like something the previous owner had left in the freezer. I don't even want to talk about what I got for naan--UGH! There were no dessert, only some nasty fruit salad with flies buzzing on top! When I pointed that out the new owner went to the kitchen to see what he could "find for us". He brought back some kind of nasty looking halwa, again, probably something left by the previous owner. And as for the food temperature on the buffet line, let's just say that I am happy that I did not get food poisoning. I am definitely not going back there and I will dissuade everyone I know from going there as well because they have no business ethics.

Re: “Masalas Authentic Indian Diner - CLOSED

Despite claims of great Indian cuisine, I found the food marginal compared to others in the Kansas City area. Food quality aside, though, I was shocked this evening when the owner (or manager) chastised and berated his employees while guests were dining. Never in all my restaurant experiences have I ever witnessed such bad judgement on the part of the management. The owner may have had good cause to give his employees a yelling, but he clearly exercised poor judgement in choosing the dining area as the venue for discipline. I will never patronize this place again nor will I ever recommend Masalas to any friends or colleagues.

Re: “Flavor of India

This has become my favorite Indian restaurant. I never believed Ruchi's could be topped but they have done it. The menu has all the typical dishes but here the flavor is so much more alive. The sevice is great, atmosphere nice. Only down side is no alcohol served. If you haven't tried this place...go now.

Re: “Paradise India

One of the best buffets anywhere- not large, but well prepared and fresh. Some new dishes every time so its not the same old thing every time. Good, friendly service.

Re: “Masalas Authentic Indian Diner - CLOSED

Way overpriced buffet- more hype than substance. We had to dig through the sauces to find meat. They tout the biggest buffet in KC- obviously they have not eaten at any of their competitors! It was almost $30 for two for lunch for only buffet and chai, no booze. A big waste of $$. How can tandoori chicken be greasy if it is properly cooked?

Re: “Paradise India

I've checked this place out a couple times and the food is pretty good. The service is very slow so dont come here in a hurry. Also the restaurant worker come to your table very often and they all ask them same questions over and over so its hard to have a good conversation with others. Overall its ok. There are always coupons online but everytime you use them it seems to be more expensive then with out them i think there are some pricing issues going on and you never know what you are paying for. But check it out if you are into Indian food.

Re: “New Café Tandoor

Good food is like music. A number of ingredients (like music instruments) come together to create music on your tastebuds. Sadly, sometimes, it turns into noise. Such is the food at this establishment. I tried the buffet but could not eat anything. The goat an dbeef entrees needed a tad more marinating. The others just did not come together. The only saving grace was the hostess who seemed to go out of her way to help.

Re: “Korma Sutra (7217 West 110th Street)

Although I haven't been there recently, I will never forget the owners big, sharing personality...he had us trying appetizers and drinks, which were wonderful and the Chicken Korma was dee-lish! It seemed as if everyone was his friend and he personally waited on them, brought food, etc. I will definitely be going back soon.

Re: “Ruchi

The best of all. The atmosphere is nice for families or for a date-night. They have the best pollo picante, salad, bread and pasta. I highly recommend you order their seafood ravioli or seafood stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer if you like seafood. It is scrumptious!! I have not had my best food there. What you get for your money is a lot of food, well worth what you pay for it. Get there early on a weekend night because it is so good that everyone goes there.

I visited the other day to sample the lunch buffet, which was delicious and had a number of offerings. But the service was abysmal.

Re: “Kababesh Grill

I am always up to try new Indian restaurants, but many times end up being disappointed. I was a bit disappointed with Kababesh. You are not able to get their buffet to go. The price is overall more expensive than all of the other Indian restaurants that I have tried in Kansas City, while the flavor of the food was very average. In my book, Korma Sutra in Westport has the best food, the price is reasonable and you can get the buffet to go!

Re: “Swagat Authentic Indian Cuisine

Prices are high, no competition for Indian restaurants in Northland. Prices are higher than advertised on website, false advertising
