Tried the Friday catfish special a couple of weeks ago and my mom had the shrimp special. Both were great -- very light breading, good crunch, nice portions, served hot, at a reasonable price. Server was very nice and checked back several times. We'll definitely go back.
Bogeys is one of the best places to eat in leawood! Laid back fun and delicious.
Great bbq at a reasonable price. Really enjoyed it.
I love this place....Great Ribs.... 4 stars from a fat guy...
The gyros are wonderful. Not too pricey. Carry out service is good.
i always have a good time at dannys. its cheap to drink, they have great homemade food(not your typical bar food) and i ve seen a lot of good shows there. not sure when that last bit was written but ive seen just about every genre of music there- from country to indie to metal to bluegrass and it always sounds good there-theyve got a bangin' p.a.!! my girlfriend likes to hang out in the back pool room cause you can still hear the band but its not as loud and it leads out to the smoking patio(which i am a nonsmoker unless its green!)
really the only place to hear live music that isnt some shitty cover band in a shitty shithole bar;
Tanner's food is far better than "typical bar grub." It is good quality , generous, and affordable . They also run bar specials that are very reasonably priced.
FABULOUS!

i started eating BIG T barbeque at the blue ridge blvd location and then they opened up another a bit closer to me and in the beginning, it was excellent, truly the best in town but my luck with the new place just isn't the same. the burnt ends are tough everytime i get them so i have stopped eating there. people are nice and maybe i will get to the other location to see if their quality is staying consistent.
thought i had found my favorite bbq place but now i am not so sure.

While this has all the decor of your standard TGI Friday's or Applebees establishments, the difference is the menu and staff. You will absolutely have no problem finding something you like and we've yet to have anything we didn't care for. Our favorites are the ribs, chicken fried stake, and anything with the jelapano bacon on top.

Austin's is our standard destination on weekdays when no-one feels like cooking. The menu offers a nice selection of sandwiches and diner plates. The real value is in the daily specials ranging from all you can eat shrimp to steak and ribs. There's sports television from every vantage point, but the noise isn't too overbearing and you can have a conversation without shouting. The staff is top notch. Kid friendly.

If I were on death row this is where I would have my last meal. The people are friendly and fast, the food cheep and fabulous! They boast the best falafel sandwich in town and rightfully so, the hummus is also spectacular.

As a chain goes, it's hard to find a more inconsistent set of locally owned restaurants in the world. One would think that each Gates would roughly approximate all other Gates. This is far from the case. The only Gates worth eating at is this one, at Linwood and Main. The service is consistent, the food wonderful, and the restaurant tip top clean. I'd recommend staying out of the bar as they seem to have taken their cue on drink prices from the KCI airport bars -- outrageously overpriced. The draught beer selection sucks in the restaurant. A few crappy domestics and Boulevard Pale Ale. The Pale matches with BBQ about as well as a glass of thin, warm, feces.

In the past 20 yrs. this joint has become way too commercialized. They jack their prices up on the name itself. Their ribs are 5 star, the sausage is one of the 3 best in the city. The smoked chicken wings are out of this world. Good fries. Overpriced. I can never seem to get a good sized slab of ribs. I love the food, I hate the price and the portions. It seems to me they like to pick and choose who gets the bigger slabs and portions. My friends always tell me to ask to choose a slab , rather than just take what they give me. Maybe next time, Ill have to do just that. If you've never had Gates , try it. Ill take Gates of Jackstack any day.
