Re: “Brio Tuscan Grille

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Plaza and dined at Brio. We decided to take our time for dinner and ordered an appetizer and shared a bottle of wine. When it came time to order our meal we both requested whole grain penne. Our dinner came with the wrong noodles and it was no big deal but our waitress took our food back and apologized several times.
We decided to exchange cards and the manager, Matthew, came to apologize for the mistake and he said our food would be out soon and that they would not charge us for our meal. We were very appreciative! Within a few minutes later he came back with 2 glasses of champagne and said "no anniversary is complete without a little bubbly!". We couldn't believe it, we're just a young normal couple enjoying our anniversary dinner. Our food came and it was delicious! Our waitress, Amy, came to see if there was anything else we needed.
My husband said we were ready for the check and she said that it was ALL taken care of. My eyes started to tear up-I was blown away by their service (and food!). So we had a bottle of wine, appetizer, champagne, entree and dessert all taken care of by the manager. Now, I know this is a rare occurrence and we were an exception. But because of the wonderful service our 6th anniversary was one we'll always remember and be thankful for. Thank you Brio!!!

Re: “Art of Pizza

I tried it for the first time in Dec 08 and have ben back several times since. I live in Overland Park, so it is not real conveniently located for me. I am from NJ and struggle to find good NY Style Pizza in the mid-west. I think this is better than Original, D'Bronx, or any other place I have tried. The crust is thin, slightly crisp on bottom, lots of bubbles, and the sauce is exceptional.

Re: “Sharks

I have been several times but usually order the same thing. I like the loaded mushrooms, southwest eggrolls, and the smokehouse chicken sandwich I've had...but I love the potroast sliders. I was skeptical at first but was told they were really good so I tried them. They have mashed potatoes, pot roast and brown gravy on them and it's hard for me to order anything else because they are so tasty. They have a bunch of pool tables, and dart boards...a couple foosball tables, shuffle board, and a ping pong table which I thought was pretty cool. Service is about average...i've had awesome service sometimes and other times sub par which is about the same thing I get everywhere else I go. It's also very big...we were able to get my girlfriends birthday party reservation of 30 on fairly short notice.

Re: “Cafe Al Dente

Cafe al Dente has called the River Market "home" since 2000, and I've been a customer since 2001. The food is always exceptional, from their homemade lasagna to pizza's to the special's on Friday and Saturday nights leaving you thinking you just left a 5 star restaurant. Prices are great and you are always greeted with a smile and treated like family. New restaurants have emerged in the River Market, but this one is here to stay! Happy Hour is one of the best; domestic draws $1.60, beer bottles $2.50 and a dozen martinis to choose from at $6!

Re: “Cinzetti's Italian Market Restaurant

We first about this place when it first arrived here in the area. Fantastic in all ways - for the variety of the food from entrees, to salads etc to desserts , the excellent quality of the food and much more. The breaded calamari is devine and spedeni is very good. There is so much to choose from. You can just focus on some entrees and a salad or do the whole variety of foods as a tapas bar as I do. On weekends and Friday they have creeped which can be filled with your choice of fruit fillings, whipped cream, and whatever you please from the selection. There are salads, soups , pizza, spaghetti, meatballs and much more . Some of my friends think the quality fo Italian stuff is just okay but I feel it is excellent for the price and quality. I frankly don't understand how you can go to any other Italian price. When we go Italian that is where we come . I 've taken groups , my wife and our kids and they all love. And remeber even though it is buffet the quality is always excellent and consistent from all the times we have come. It can get a little noisey but the service is very good. If you have not tries it, you need to

I'm a recent transplant to KC, and I've fallen in love with Carmen's! I'd gone there one time before moving, and couldn't wait to get here to have some more! The Fra Diavolo is absolutely amazing, as is the Chicken Spidini...go here and you won't be disappointed!!

Re: “Buca di Beppo

Wonderful place. The food- portions are huge, you can share between two people easily. Very flavorful and a wide variety. The atmosphere- Though it's like a maze, I was afraid I'd get lost on the way back from the bathroom, it intrigued me. Walls are decorated vintage like as though it like I'd imagine an authentic italian restraunt in italy. The service- I thought was very good given our group was about 20 people. They even gave us free cheesy bread cuz it was a bachlorette party =). That was very nice. The outside while waiting is also very italy like with rod iron tables and seats and statues. Very pretty and romantic outside. Very pleased...I will go back.

Re: “Garozzo's Ristorante

I don’t understand why the previous reviewer was so hard on Garozzo's Ristorante. The Garlic is not in everything and Mike has always showed great class in serving an excellent meal. The Waiters and waitress have always been friendly and kind every time I’ve ate there. Atmosphere and music in the background just makes you feel good. Hey Rumson, you just have never tasted true Italian food, not all of the red gravy is sweet at Garozzo’s. Funny I have ate at other so called Italian restaurants and have even tasted garlic on the bread and water, but not here. I recommend this place to everyone, its cozy relaxing and great food.
