Great place to watch games. Good specials everyday too!
This is one of the best places to eat and party in South Overland Park. The food always exceeds my expectations, even the side items, like vegetables. Nothing is an afterthought. Edward, the owner and exec chef, pays attention to every detail.
They also have a rockin live music and and night scene. Often I stop in for a beer after leaving the gym and the place is too packed for me to find a chair or stool. But be advised: The music and clientele tends to be 40s to 60s from the 60s to the 80s.
They serve on of the best burgers in town. And a friend who lived in Europe for some years said their fish and chips are incredible. And you would be hard pressed to find better steaks. And my wife says their salads are some of the best to be had in KC.
Disclaimer: I am not an owner or investor in Paddy's, just a happy customer.
Comfort food with a flair. Local place for us, and we take guests there regularly. Never had a bad experience, and the wait staff are, well, fun! Sometimes a little loud, but a small price to pay for glorious gluttony.
We were looking for something unusual, and we found it. It was a great place. The food was delicious and the server was very friendly. I will happily go there again, and tell others about it.
A great friendly, neighborhood bar. Good food, great prices, friendly staff. The new handbreaded tenderloin is awesome.
This is the best club in the north Kansas city!!! This place is huge. with an awesome dance floor and 2 big v.i.p. sections. Actually the whole place is a V.I.P.!!! Plush couches and tables all over the place. The Thursday night D..J.'s are The BEST i have herd in Kansas city ever!!!! D.J. DOUBLE "U" .... gets 10 thumbs up!!!! and the drinks are hella cheap for Kansas city,
Had several drinks and complained about them. They were weak/watered down. Drank all night, no buzz, the service was slow at best, but they sure didn't forget to charge me for any of those weak drinks!
It's a dive, no doubt about it but the beer is super cold the people are friendly and Brian Chambers (the owner) is a huge supporter of local music. One of my favorite places to go catch a show. Well worth the drive!
best smoking bar in the metro
I would be happy to give them 4 stars, as their food is good, but be prepared for the slow and spotty service. I have eaten there 10 - 15 times (they are very conveniently located for me at lunchtime) since they opened, but I don't go more often because it takes so long. Also, there are not many lowfat options - lots of deliciously unhealthy ones though!
My folks were visiting so we went here for supper with my cousin. Great atmosphere, good food and friendly service
Just a bar. We went there for something different but it was nothing special. Started out with soup and it was really good . The motel advertisment said voted #1 pizza in KC. So we ordered the all meat large. BIG MISTAKE! Wow we each couldn't even finish 1 piece. It came to the table smelling like garlic. Which can be ok but after taking a bite the taste had way to much pepper and it also was only half cooked. We paid the bill but shouldnt have and left. Went to steak and shake instead. Wasted evening.
yo man, that goose n cran was off the chain so was the corona n grenadine!!!!
I always go to Luna. Last night I was there, I simply opened a tab and came back to find that it had been closed by someone other than myself. My card was clearly signed for by someone that did not sign my name or any name in any human language for that matter. I was yelled at and pushed out of the door and told by the manager that "I have no idea where your card is". I will never return here and I hope no one else does and has this same experience. Luna has taken no responsibility and will continue to do this to the people that support them and give them their money.

I have been going to the Falloon for years, but this is the first time I have been since Highwood Properties had some input on the renovation and menu changes took place. They have made changes to the interior and menu that were intended to make the classic sports bar and grill to appear more upscale. Some of the interior changes I don't mind but the menu changes were a hugh disapointment. Having a rueben sandwich without thousand island dressing or something similar??? The rueben comes with mustard, in my book I call that a pastromi sandwich with mustard, not a rueben! My bigest complaint, besides the complete sellout of the Falloon to what Highwood Properties excecutives want the Plaza resturants to be, is the fact that they can no longer cook an old fasion classic bacon cheese burger properly. I ordered my burger medium, it came out gray, no pink in sight, it inevietibly was very dry. The bacon was nice and thick, but hard as a rock and dry as card board, when I broke a piece off dust fell to he plate! The bun was nothing special, but sticking with the theme it was overly dry. Finally, the fries, were good, but mostly burnt up and hard. Its too bad, maybe the Falloon had no choice but to make these changes in order to stay on the Plaza, but the least they could do is hire a competent kitchen staff to maintain some level of decent food. Next time maybe I should just go to Blanc burgers or 810 Zone to get a decent burger, they didn't sell out thier menu to Highwoods, at least not yet!
When they first opened this 54th ST. location on NE Barry Rd. near Liberty, it was one of only a few restaurants in that area. Now it's very built up with many choices. Many have come and several have gone in the past 10 years. The 54th St. seems to attract the shoppers from the near by strip malls and Wal-Mart. In the early years, this 54th ST. was at least OK, nothing special, but decent enough and closer to Kearney where we live than most other restaurants. But we stopped going there after a waiter, botched our large group order. Example: "Oh you wanted the salad before your meal?" Complaining only got us a gift certificate for $10. off the next visit. No thanks. On an earlier trip, our waiter asked us to give him his tip before we were done, because he was ending his shift. Amazing! To be fair, the Liberty area is service worker challenged. and good help is hard to find and harder to keep given the low wages and poor management in many of these corporate chain boxes. The food at 54th St. is similar to other family American fare style boxes like Appplebee's, etc. We usually opt for The Corner Cafe which is a few feet away from the 54th St. location.
Comfort. Food.
Really, what's more to say? Amazing burgers, great fried pickles, and the meatloaf sandwich .......ooooooooohhhh!
Sassy/friendly wait staff, big portions, friendly bartenders. Sometimes loud; and the upstairs deck in summer? Did someone say "Happy Hour"?
Re: “Denim and Diamonds”
Crowded, lots of line dances and people of the older generation. Expensive drinks and cruddy bathrooms. But other than that, a lot of fun! Great for kicking back and letting loose. Good food and pool. Clean.
