Nobody's Bidnis wants to thank all of our friends that came out and joined us at Sherlock's Underground last night. We had a great time! I just wanted to give a well deserved shout out to Bill, the owner of Sherlock's. It's located in Liberty, MO at 291 and Brown street next to Price Chopper and Sutherland's Lumber. He's taken this hole in the wall, made it into a BEAUTIFUL place with a GREAT atmosphere and , now, he's recently partnered with Big Willie who's a BAD-ASS back in the kitchen making some of the BEST smoked meats and BBQ I've EVER tasted! Those who know me know I'm a foodie and I don't give high praise easily, especially for BBQ...but WOW! (Wille, are you married? ;-) )
After the first smoked and perfectly seasoned drummie I wanted to sit out and eat all night!! I made sure to order extra to take home and I'm just counting the minutes until lunchtime so I can tear into it.....yum! Other friends tried their smoked turkey sandwich and the "Big Willie" which consisted of TWO buns, pulled pork, beans (to die for) and slaw and both got RAVE reviews. To make it even better..the prices were VERY reasonable. All I can say is Big Willie sure knows how to give out the big "O" when it comes to BBQ! (I'm serious Willie-call me! ;-O )
Sherlock's = Great atmosphere, Hot Blues and FANTASTIC food!! A home run combo in my book. BTW....Bill also takes care of his smokers with a really nice patio with a warm, enclosed area for the winter time. Thanks again Bill for a great evening! You're doing EVERYTHING right. North of the river, it's THE place to go!
The two male owners are not arrogant and rude. They are grown, twins, who look alike, but if you've known them long, easy to tell apart. There is live music, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Something for most people. Thursday nights, it's the "old folks" dancing to Country. Friday and Saturday nights, it's usually Classic Rock. Sunday, late afternoon is a jam, and you might hear anything. Good food, great place to just have a good time!
You might want to get the address right. This Sheridan's is in Independence MO!!!
I went to this event. The people who work there had never heard of Lonnie Ray Blues band.
This club is run by two of the most arrogant and rude brothers you'd ever meet for club owners. I think they are in bread. $2.50 for a glass of water and waitresses that are slow and just out right stupid when it comes to customer service. Don't waste your time in this hole in the wall.
Love and hate this bar. the beer selection has improved, as have the beer prices - so that's a plus. The bartenders are typically good, waitresses are not. The bar is often loaded with too many drunk locals, and bartenders don't cut off very drunk people in time, they just keep serving. I've seen several fights break out here. Locals are bascially idiots. Lowbrow druggie clientele on some nights. Bathrooms were rebuilt a year or two back, which helped. Weekdays are your best bet for drink bargains, because the place is packed on weekends. It's a true dive bar with live music on weekends, karaoke during the week.
Thanks for the review, Bob Biggs....I was wondering if they were smoke-free. Since they are not, I will stay away.
Bartender who said she is the GM was terrible and RUDE, she has NO idea about booking bands, she must have lied her ass off to get the job. They should check her past employment
Had no problem paying the low cover charge of $5.00 to eat dinner. I was told the money went to the band which was amazing! The BBQ was the best I have had in the city so far and the service was spot on, thank you Allie! I give this place 5 stars because there is no place like this in the city that you can eat great food & see live bands that really know how to put on show! Thanks BB'S!!
My Fiance and I were very excited to have our wedding reception here next March. Beautiful space, great view, excellent food and a 5-star wedding coordinator. We signed a contract with 2000 Grand on November 3, 2012, however the contract was signed not by our event coordinator, but by the owner. We knew nothing of this because we never saw the contract after the owner signed it...You could say we didn't mind because we were still in a pre-wedding bliss, full of fun planning for the best day of our lives. Needless to say, the bliss has worn off.
On November 12, 2012, we went in for a tasting to select the entree for the reception. Our great event coordinator, who we really liked and trusted, told us then and there that she was leaving and introduced us to her replacement. We were okay with it at the start, but after 5 days of no returned emails we knew this was a fail. We didn't trust the new coordinator to get the job done so we tried to pull out of the contract on November 21, 2012 by citing a clause that said something to the effect of "no changes are binding except in writing". But, to our dismay, the contract wasn't even signed by our coordinator, it was signed by the owner (someone the internet tells us is quite the bully). Remember the wedding bliss? Yeah we had no idea.
Another interesting point here is that, we asked them to take us off their calendar earlier this week so they can begin to re-lease the space, and sustain no damages by our situation. They refused and claimed they won't take us off until we pay our contract cancellation fee, which I will explain in the next paragraph. This is just silly business practice that can be simplified into plain-old bullying. They know that we are gone. They also know they won't make money if they don't re-lease the space. But they insist on hurting their own business to collect a measly $2,000 from a young engaged couple, us, who want out because they acted quite unprofessionally.
Long story short, lots of emails, a few interesting phone calls and some heartburn later, 2000 Grand delivered an ultimatum. Either we pay the 25% of the contract amount (which was a clause in the contract that we understand, but we claim the whole agreement is voided by their unprofessional actions) or they hand us over to the collection rats.
I would strongly advise any prospective event-hosting people out there that even though the space is good, the food is good and the folks seem nice, the current management here can be accurately described as crooks. I hope this post encourages you to make a wise decision of where you take your business.
The bands are great but the bar is extremely smokey with poor ventilation. Make it non smoking and would go there often.
Love everything about this club but wish the smoking was kept to the outside. Great music, best bar food in town and absolutely awesome people working there.
Worst restaurant I've ever eaten at!!! Service was terrible, sangria didn't have any alcohol, food was bland and over priced. To top it off the restaurant had my car towed from a reserved spot WHILE I WAS EATING INSIDE!!
Management was completely inept at resolving their mistake. I tried to contact owner Casey Adams who has been completely unresponsive. I'm going after them through the BBB (Better Biz Bureau).
NEVER EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!!
An excellent place to see live music shows and the city is hopeful for a sports team to relocate here.
I've been eating at BB's since they opened in 1990 and have tried most of the items on the menu. They have never let me down on the quality of their brisket, burnt ends, turkey, or sausage. Their fries and beans are very good as well.
Come see Captain Ahab and the Narwhals, Zach Jackson and the Funky Few, Rev Gusto, and Real Sugar tonight at Barnyard Beer! It'll be a folksy, funky, rockin' good time!
Doors open at 6:00pm!
Pullman Standard you guys Rock ! What can i say , so very impressed , there should have been i line around the block to get in that place. New Fan !
Re: “R.G.'s Lounge”
Don't know the owner so can't Comment. The waitresses are very slow however. Seem to want to hang out where the drinks are served at a side bar.
