Do not rent from these people. Their maintenance is awful. Nothing ever gets done right. Truly terrible experience with them so far, and it's only been a few weeks.
My wife and I recently visited kokopelli's. We live in the Northland, but one of my wife's doctors office is nearby, so we took the ocassion to stop in, in part because of good reviews my wife had heard on a local PBS program. I would not return if I lived across the street. The above "Restaurant Details" mentions reasonably/modestly priced menu items. A burrito priced north of $9.00 is not modest, and reasonable only if it is good. The menu stated that the burrito was one of their most popular items...sad if true. The portion size was about what you would find at any "Mexican" eatery, but the quality was just plain poor. The beef and pork in the filling was tasteless, the refried beans in the filling was no better than what anyone could dump out of a can, and the "queso" on top, please. If I'm paying, as stated before, north of $9:00 for a burrito, with the certain expectation of a gratuity to boot, then don't serve me something that with 10 minutes, a stove top, chunk of Velveeta, and a can of Rotel, I can make myself! I have made a concerted effort over the years, as many of us have, to eat healthier. But.....recently while out running numerous errands I drove by a Bueno Taco location. I can't explain it, guilty pleasure? Temporary insanity? I went in and got, you see this coming don't you, a burrito. It wasn't quite as big as Kokopelli's, but it was just as good, for one third the price.
Don't go here! We are regulars who have gone here weekly for the past year. The day of my Bachelorette Party they canceled our reservation of the VIP room because they had double booked it. This, even after we had called twice to confirm our reservation and done so in person in the weeks prior to the event. We told everyone in my party that we had the VIP room and planned the evening around it. Though it is within walking distance from our homes and was our trusted neighborhood bar, we'll no longer be spending our money here or ending our weekend excursions at this bar.
This place is closed.

HOMOPHOBE WARNING! The owner of this restaurant is a raging homophobe. I wouldn't have known, except when he dumped a cigarette (half-smoked, still lit) on the sidewalk in front of me as I was walking by, I told him not to litter my neighborhood and to pick up his trash.
He became belligerent, and told me to go home and get a man to control me. I told him I was quite happy with my wife.
At that point, he blew a fuse. I was succinctly called a "tomboy," told that I was "sick," that I "needed a man," and was informed to "go away or [he'd] call the police." Not even kidding. Right there in front of everyone.
BOYCOTT THIS RESTAURANT. We don't need homophobic, hateful bigots like this on 39th Street. We don't need litterbugs either. Oh, the food is mediocre, for what it's worth. You're far better off going a couple of blocks west along 39th street to Vietnam Cafe.

A very poor show. How could a theater with as many professional directors and producers put out something this lame? Hey, ever heard of a thing called a "plot"? I doubt this script would have earned more than and "C-" in scriptwriting 101. The actors though do a good job and should get a medal for trying to breathe life into such a poorly written production. It is sad that the Rep would put out such a crappy show as a signature production.

Wow! I'm shocked at this place. Doorman took my beer from my hand as he chanted "n--ger move on, n--ger move on". Absolutely despicable for 2010. I'm still shaking from the shock of hearing that (surreal to hear the n-word). Gusto doorman also called some other blacks "spics". I dont know what that means or what he was trying to get at... I'm still in awe...I'm sickened by this place. Please don't ever judge KC based on this ignorance and racism.
disgusting. disgusting. disgusting.

Sports Bar Redefined - If your definition of a Sports bar is a good looking wait staff, plenty of TVs, and cold beer then Side Pockets advertising is dead on accurate. Their wait staff is a bunch of rude, lazy, fat chicks that serve almost cold beer. The TVs are ancient too. I have a new slogan for them. Side Pockets A Study in Bad Management.

My 2 sisters and I just went there for one of our birthdays. We did't have a reservation but there were many empty tables. The hostess asked us if we could be done in an hour or if we wanted to wait for a table. We said we would try to be done. The waiter was instructed to stay close by our table and make sure he took our order timely. after just 45 minutes, the waiter brought over the check and and the host came with him to tell us our time was up. We asked if we could be moved to one of the many empty tables. we were told they were all reserved. They were very rude and nasty and made sure to embarrass us and make us leave our table even though there were many empty tables when we left. The explanation was that they were all reserved. Until tonight that was one of my favorite places. I will never eat there again because of how badly we were treated. When we tried to complain to the girl at the register, she put her hand in our faces and said "good night ladies"..... I am very sad and disappointed.

Side Pockets is a bar, grill, pool hall. The emphasis is on the bar-grill portion of the business. The tables are not well kept, and are badly in need of maintenance. If you are going somewhere to play pool this is one establishment to skip. The food is good for bar food, and they have a good selection. However, the service is terrible, and this is evident by the lack of lunch business. There are several leagues that play at Side Pockets, and this is what is keeping the business a float. On non-league nights Side Pockets is deserted. There are many more places in Kansas City with better food, better staff, and cheaper fun. Don't settle for Side Pockets in Lenexa. On a side note - the Side Pockets in Olathe, and Bonner Springs have already gone out of business, and I see this one going under soon also.

Our experience was subpar and well below our expectations and the reviews we had read prior to our reservation. The open floor plan seating arrangements did not allow for the romantic dining experience we thought we would encounter. The tables were so close the waiter would put his derriere in your face when taking our neighbors order. The host seemed confused when seating us and then told us he was actually our waiter. He was extremely soft spoken and hard to hear or understand and neglected our simple needs for water and cocktails and removing our plates when we were finished eating. We asked for reservations at Manifesto when we arrived, he did not take care of them until we were finished eating and we ended up on a waiting list and never went.
Our dining experience started with bread rolls that were so hard we could not break them with a knife or by breaking them on the side of the table. We asked the pasty waiter for another softer roll and he seemed offended. Next came our starter dishes, we had a spinach salad that seemed like it was sitting for a while; the leaves were soggy as were the croutons. The Bisque Soup was acceptable but not garnished as well as our neighbors. Next came our main courses, we had Tenderloin and Lamb; both entrees were lukewarm at best on cold plates. The lamb had a broken leg and the taste was very gamey. The tenderloin was good, but cold and very small portions, we had one slice of meat and our neighbors had 3-5 slices and their presentations were very professional as ours was not. Finally came the deserts, which was the best part of the meal, although my butterscotch pudding was lukewarm instead of chilled.
After we finished our meals our dishes sat for some time, we had to ask for our check several times, and we were never asked if wanted another cocktail. Our dining experience was one of the worst in the Kansas City Area, and for the price, which was extremely high, we would have expected one waiter attending to our every need, not understaffed waiting on 7 other tables. We would never go back.

Went to see Colby and Mole with my girl. Saw another couple walk in the door. A drunk patron started trouble with the female that had just come in. It ended quickly but the drunk lady quickly started the trouble again and invaded the personal space of the other female. The other female pushed her away and was then asked to leave by a very rude bartender. The bartender followed the couple out of the bar (the bartender was the only visible employee at the time, leaving the bar without supervision). Once outside the bartender engaged in a physical confrontation with the female and allowed several other patrons to go out in the smoking area and shout obscenities as the couple left. This place should not even be open and the bartender should have lost his job. I am disgusted with this establishment and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, even as punishment.

I have never been treated so badly in my life from the staff at this place.
The staff called us kids, decided it would be a good idea to shake a dirty salty and sandy rug all over us then decided it was ok to drink heavily on the job and yell at there customers.

The food is just OK but the service is the pits. 1st trip in, got billed for 15 extra drinks and it took 20 minutes to get my bill cleared up. 2nd time in, I gave a credit card to the waitress when I opened my tab and told her I would pay in cash. It took 40 minutes to get a very average hamburger. I paid in cash and found out 2 days later the waitress ran my card for $20 too. The Manager only gave me the run-a-round and refused to help. Had to get my money back through the credit cards dispute process. MY ADVICE - STAY AWAY!

We made the mistake of giving Harvey House a 2nd chance in Dec 2009.
We also went last year it took them 45 minutes to bring four poached eggs (after they first delivered 3 fried eggs and then 4 hard-boiled eggs).
This time, it took them an hour to bring our food -- and it wasn't even busy. They told us they were no longer serving eggs, even though the sign in the lobby said they now served breakfast all of the time. The hamburger wasn't right, the taco salad was bland, and ALL of the lettuce in the side salad was completely wilted.
They're friendly, and it's a neat atmosphere, but don't go if you want to order food.

I went to Domo recently to eat, because of all of the great reviews. Unfortunately for me, I had horrible service. My waitress (if you can call her that) took my drink order, but then never returned for 30 minutes with my drink, or to take my sushi order. I gave her another 10 minutes, with still nothing. I got up and left and thanked her for her unusual service. I will never be back!

Re: “Cozy's Cafe”
Went there for breakfast with my wife. Our order was timely and not bad but i ordered coffee to drink when my breakfast was served i had less than half a cup was not asked if i wanted more finnaly when my check was brought I was asked if I needed anything else I replied yes I would like another cup of coffee As the lady sitting next to our table had been trying to get someones attention also that she needed a refill I was told by kozy that all i have to do is ask in a very rude manner. Since i was about to leave anyway i just said well you guys were to busy to get anyones attention. The kafe was not packed just seemed they had no time to check on customers before they brought the check. Honestly my wife replied to me she thought kozy was very rude and she did not want to return. as my feelings are the same way. I usually dont post many reviews but this one I felt needed to be shared.
