I went to lunch on a Friday, and the place was jammed, but with only two servers who really weren't prepared for such a big crowd. Aside from the service, I was very disappointed with the food, which surprisingly wasn't very authentic. I'm a Korean from Central Asia, so maybe our style is slightly different, but my lunch was mostly bland and not spicy overall. I was really looking forward to the blood sausage (soondae), but it did not meet my expectations. It's not how it was portrayed in the recent Pitch review.

The food was ok - nothing really great. Tasted like any other burger even if I did get elk.
The beer was warm and I thought the meal was over priced.

The atmosphere and music was great, but I was turned off by the service of the bartenders and doormen. After waiting in line to get a drink for ten minutes, the bartenders continued to ignore not only myself, but other patrons who were holding out money just to get a drink. I even witnessed a bartender yell at a customer b/c she got slightly impatient.
The place is a good idea, but don't even mess with the bar. It will leave you frustrated and disappointed...

What is going on around here!! First off wasn't Chuckie T arrested or charged with battery or something back in the summer-fall last year at his own bar. Drinking problem of some kind because I remember thinking of Jared and his drinking problem hooking up with Chuckie T. Chuckie T owned the Peanut on Shawnee Mission Parkway and then suddenly it changed its name to something else (don't remember) and then shortly after Jared Allens Sports Bar was open. Talk about a train wreck. You would think with all the money Jared got he could at least afford to go out in style!! Q104 is a real venue for the following of these two wonder what they have to say about things?

The building is gorgeous and so was the presentation of the food. However, the flavor and tastes did not match either of those good qualities.
I order fish and chips, while my wife ordered a pasta/chicken special. Needless to say, both were very bland and uneventful other than the before mentioned presentation. Fish and Chips at many other places is better and better value.
Overall, quality of food was not commensurate with the prices.

I had high hopes for this restaurant when looking for a good Chinese place in the Brookside area....and after reading the Pitch's pitch, I thought it was a sure bet! Sadly, that was not so. The service was terrible, and the food really not that much better. Their hot and sour soup was reasonable though. Outside of that, their appetizers are all very greasy and their menu lacks much in the way of descriptions - you get the name of the dish and not much else. So I'm still in search of a good Chinese food place in the area....

Until last night, was one of my weeknight favs. Last night, everything was off. Meatballs were like sawdust, the penne; overcooked, the diablo sauce; something was missing from the usual much loved sauce. Friends ordered pasta with cream sauces which were like wall paper paste. One sent hers back, they remade the dish and it improved somewhat. Hopefully they won't loose the original receipes when they move down Main.

Love 1924! Chef Burger, Pizza Bella, not so much. Have not been to Souperman yet.
The food was typical bar food, nothing special except the location and the hip urban design.
Would not recommend nor return.

We were excited to try this place but ended up unhappy with our visit. The food is average and the price is outrageously expensive for pancakes and a breakfast buffet. It is fun for kids but that is about the only good thing I can say. It is always busy so someone enjoys it.

Be sure to make the Daily Limit your last stop of the day. When you leave you will smell like a walking ashtray. Definitely a haven for smokers. Don't know what the fate of the Daily Limit will be when the KC no smoking ban in enacted.
Other than the smoke, the food is good and the drinks are cheap.

54th Street amazes me that it survives. The entire wait staff is in a constant state of confusion. Sometimes food is prompt, other times it's a nightmare. While the menu is vast, it's the same thing you can get at Chiles, Fred P. Otts, Applebees. The one thing I can bank on is taking Prilosic before going. Eating at 54th Street is a weight loss program. I never eat there.

Remarkable how quickly this place went down hill. It was fairly good when it opened. But recently, October 2007 to be exact...I went to City Tavern with three other people. Our waiter was a bit stand-offish. She warmed up after a while. Food was very average, nothing on the plate was exciting or anything you couldn't do yourself at home if you were so inclined.

This one is difficult. In my pre-vegetarian days, I loved bluestem. Incredible food, great atmosphere, great service. Post-vegetarian, I was told "we'll make something amazing for you". They did...if a half a dozen pieces of baby veg neatly arranged on a plate is amazing. All of this for $30. Hmmm...prior to completing our 6 bites of food, we told our waiter we weren't sure that qualified as dinner. She apologized and brought us a small bowl of pasta. I thought it was such a nice gesture until we received our check. We had been charged an additional $20 for our pastas. WTF??? So...$50 each for a small plate of pasta and some baby veg.
So...if you're a typical carnivore...great place. If you're vegetarian, my only suggestion is walk in backwards and bent over cause you're about to get it.

You get alot for your money here. Ribs are average, beef, and sausage is good. Good for lunch. If your in this area, and you want some Q with some real good smoke flavor, go down to Woodyard on Merriam Ln.

Good food , dont get me wrong. NOT THE BEST in KC by far. Way overpriced. Makes you think your eating at a steak house on the plaza. Ribs and sausage are really good. Burnt ends are good , but dont hold a candle to Arthur Bryants. Portions are not sizeable at all , for the money you pay. You pay for the steakhouse atmosphere. Sauce is average.
