Re: “Granny's Chicken Ranch

Outstanding Food & Atmosphere. The experienc was great, we saw a great show on the patio which is really the nicest outdoor dining we have seen in KC. My husband had the pot roast which was excellent, and I had the chicken fried chicken, it was great. The mashed potatoes are heavenly, as is the chicken gravy. The place is family run, and it shows. One of the owner's has a little girl that visits with the customers and is just darling. Thanks Charles for the great tip.

Re: “Granny's Chicken Ranch

We have been to this Restaurant 8 times now and have never had a bad experience. This is by far the best restaurant in the Legends. If Comfort food is what you crave, this restaurant has no equal. The Fried Chicken is the best we have eaten, the mashed potatoes and gravey are fresh and hot. The home made cinnamon rolls and biscuits are great. This is a must try for all you chicken fans, Strouds can't hold a candle to this place, and the atmosphere is unbelieveable.

Re: “Cafe Al Dente

Cafe al Dente has called the River Market "home" since 2000, and I've been a customer since 2001. The food is always exceptional, from their homemade lasagna to pizza's to the special's on Friday and Saturday nights leaving you thinking you just left a 5 star restaurant. Prices are great and you are always greeted with a smile and treated like family. New restaurants have emerged in the River Market, but this one is here to stay! Happy Hour is one of the best; domestic draws $1.60, beer bottles $2.50 and a dozen martinis to choose from at $6!

Re: “Avenues Bistro Brookside

My husband and I ate lunch here for the first time and I was very impressed with the food. I had the Thai Scallop Salad and it was just right. My husband liked his Hot Brown Sandwich very much too. I loved the menu and want to go back so I can try everything on it. Attentive and friendly staff too!

Re: “Guadalajara Café

We love this place. It has ambience, a great menu and great food. We have been here several times over a few years and have not been disappointed. The food is not your typical tex-mex, mexican but is more like a Tex-Mex Eurobistro entrees. Very different steak comination and other dishes. Flavorful and interesting dishes to say the least. Lots of choices to pick from. Definitely a classier place to take a date or spouse for a little more upscale setting for a meal. Not really a place for younger folks but more for adults. The prices are fairly reasonable and have a range of different prices. Check it out!

Re: “Cinzetti's Italian Market Restaurant

We first about this place when it first arrived here in the area. Fantastic in all ways - for the variety of the food from entrees, to salads etc to desserts , the excellent quality of the food and much more. The breaded calamari is devine and spedeni is very good. There is so much to choose from. You can just focus on some entrees and a salad or do the whole variety of foods as a tapas bar as I do. On weekends and Friday they have creeped which can be filled with your choice of fruit fillings, whipped cream, and whatever you please from the selection. There are salads, soups , pizza, spaghetti, meatballs and much more . Some of my friends think the quality fo Italian stuff is just okay but I feel it is excellent for the price and quality. I frankly don't understand how you can go to any other Italian price. When we go Italian that is where we come . I 've taken groups , my wife and our kids and they all love. And remeber even though it is buffet the quality is always excellent and consistent from all the times we have come. It can get a little noisey but the service is very good. If you have not tries it, you need to

Re: “Tannahs Asian Fusion - CLOSED

I checked the menu and this place out before it changed its name. The menu was pretty much the same since the first time I checked out this place. There are good choices for vegetariarian, fish, beef, chicken , vegetable, soups wraps, dim sum, noodle dishes. There are a nice array of spicy dishes as well as less spicy. There were good fusion, asian and other dishes from appetizers to entrees and more. I also checked out the music performances at early evening for the summer. Sounded good. The restaurant We tried two entrees: Siracha Beef (garlic, onions, spicy sauce - did not have snow peas)and Thai Peanut Chicken ( red bell pepper, cashews, cilantro)and they were both excellent especially the beef ( I like spicy far and sirachi and this was done veru well). We usually don't have drinks but we tried the passion fruit ice tea and it was very good as well. The waitress and service was top notch. We moved to the outside for the music, tea and and a desser. There were good choices but we chose Molten Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream which we shared. It was moist, chocolaty and the vanilla ice cream. The prices were reasonable as well. We enjoyed the meals and the music. We definitely would go back again.

Re: “Sung Son

I had heard about this place. But when I heard that the place had a new opened a new buffet and noddle bar for lumch, I had to go and check it out. I had heard that the Vietnamese food was bland. It was especially at recent place I tried in Kansas City but to my delight, not at this place. I had tried Vietnamese food in other parts of the country and I knew Vietnamese food was better then this bland restuarant before. But here at this new buffet and noodle bar, you can see immediately the character and what Vietnamese food really tastes like. When I entered, I chose 1 of 11 different noodle type soups, made to order by one of the cooks ( noodles with either tofu, beef and others). While that was being prepared fresh, I sampled the buffet area. The dishes were not really spicy but well seasoned. The best was the slightly spicy sweet tomato tofu. The spicy yellow curry chicken was excellent and was thick and spicy sweet not spicy hot and was very good. The beef stew in a nice brown broth and vegetables was excellent too and had a lot of flavor. The non fried spring rolls had a lot of vegetables and was very good in the hot sour sauce or the peanut like sauce. The crab rangoon was okay and the Goi Ga chicken salad was bland. The chinese General t'sao was surprisingly good , not too sweet, moist and not burnt to a crisp. Hunan chicken and the Moo Go Gai Pan chicken were better then I had expected. One of the premier ones I heard of the tempura like sweet potatoes were mushy and not very good. But it was the noodle soup I wanted to find out about. I ordered the meatball version s I heard about it. It came with vermicelli, vegetables and jalapeno strips in a clear tasty broth. The beef ball was actually cut into little strips. It was little chewy and did not have much flavor. The owner and staff were very cordial. I definitely will come back with my wife and my son is interested too.

Re: “Blanc Burgers & Bottles

As a burger connessieur I must say, "I have yet to consume a burger as good as the one I had at Blanc on Friday night. Believe me, I've had my share of Midwestern beef patties; I grew up in Nebraska where beef, without fail, was the center-star of every other meal eaten. Anyway, now that I've disclosed my beef eating history, let's get back to back to the juicy stuff. Blanc is a gourmet burger venue which serves up specialty burgers, fries, onion rings, and also offers a few salads for the calorie-conscious individuals. It has a long list of bottled beers, sodas, and an extensive selection of wines. I've been to Blanc twice now; the first trip I went with two others on a Sunday afternoon, we all ended up ordering a different lunch combo. I steered clear from red meat the first round, and opted for the lentil curry burger and sweet potato fries. Oh boy-- Boca Burgers could go bankrupt if this patty went to to the supermarket. The pattie was bursting with assorted veggies, lentils, and the perfect amount of curry flavor. It was served with some exotic toppings, which I don't recall, and then piled on a locally produced whole-grain bun. The sweet potato fries were thinly cut, super crispy, and were generously seasoned. For those who who like to dip, you're in luck, all patties and fries are served with homemade ketchup, creamy Dijon mustard, and a chipotle aioli. My second experience with Blanc was on a Friday night, our party of 8 thought chances were slim to none of snagging a table at 7pm. We were right, and ended up waiting until 8:30 before we were seated at our white set of tables and chairs, hence the name Blanc. Tonight I had my heart set on the Au Poivre burger; this consisted of a 1/2 pound peppercorn and salt crusted beef patty seared to a perfect medium, and then adorned with peppercorn sauce, watercress greens, grilled onions, and set on top a brioche bun. Another lovely selection, I must admit. Besides these items other picks from the menu include: The Inside-out-Burger(stuffed with blue cheese and bacon--which I anticipate trying next), The Classic, Turkey, Mahi-Mahi, Buffalo, and the lethal Kobe patty. I don't have enough time to describe the goodness of these burgers, so you'll have to see for yourself what goes into them. I assure you, you won't be disappointed.

Great from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Quality service, food, and location. (In the Kansas City Power & Light District)Love the spiked shakes, the sweet potato fries (taste better than it sounds), and awesome burgers. Re: “Buca di Beppo

Wonderful place. The food- portions are huge, you can share between two people easily. Very flavorful and a wide variety. The atmosphere- Though it's like a maze, I was afraid I'd get lost on the way back from the bathroom, it intrigued me. Walls are decorated vintage like as though it like I'd imagine an authentic italian restraunt in italy. The service- I thought was very good given our group was about 20 people. They even gave us free cheesy bread cuz it was a bachlorette party =). That was very nice. The outside while waiting is also very italy like with rod iron tables and seats and statues. Very pretty and romantic outside. Very pleased...I will go back.
