Re: “The Hideout

Love the Blues jams on Sundays! Great food & great people. Even though it's not 'smoke-free' it has never been smokey the times I have been there and I am even allergic to cigarette smoke. The only drawback is you may not find a place to sit sometimes.

Re: “Princess Garden

It took 6 years for local friends to introduce us to "the Gardens" and we have not turned away since. After years in New York, Toronto, and Vegas (cities with exceptional Chinese food) we struggled to find authentic and fresh Chinese in KC. Princess Gardens offers it in abundance...be sure to have the Szechwan Seafood Soup (for two..) It's loaded with fresh seafood and has a flavor that will keep you coming back. This is the only place I've been to that routinely will offer Peking Duck (fresh, crisp) that is always available and always delicious. Steer clear of the yuppified Chinese chains in town and stick with an old standard.

Re: “R.G.'s Lounge

The two male owners are not arrogant and rude. They are grown, twins, who look alike, but if you've known them long, easy to tell apart. There is live music, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Something for most people. Thursday nights, it's the "old folks" dancing to Country. Friday and Saturday nights, it's usually Classic Rock. Sunday, late afternoon is a jam, and you might hear anything. Good food, great place to just have a good time!

Re: “Los Alamos Market y Cocina

Authentic with big flavones. Love the red pork- spicy+. Usually about 6 things on menu. True home cook'n by owners (Augustine) wife and mother. Über casual.

Re: “The Landing

It was a Saturday night in January. My buddies 39th birthday. They were playing live music and we had a great time. Age ranged was around our age. Drinks are reasonable and we had a good time. Just don't lose your CC bc teu don't check ID's. Mine fell out and somebody used it and charged only 32 dollars the next day. Management was cool. Refunded my money.

Re: “Bogey's Bar and Grill

Tried the Friday catfish special a couple of weeks ago and my mom had the shrimp special. Both were great -- very light breading, good crunch, nice portions, served hot, at a reasonable price. Server was very nice and checked back several times. We'll definitely go back.

Re: “Carter Art Center

Great gallery space. Every April the students display and sell their wonderful artwork.

Re: “Little Richard’s Family Restaurant

The atmosphere is definitely "hick" with deer heads all over the place, I eat there once a week with my widower grandfather. The people are nice, just not the type of people I usually associate with. But regardless the food is very good and I go to be with my grandfather to keep him going after losing his wife of 50+ years.

Re: “The Westside Local

Excellent grilled cheese, fabulous fries, the burgers are quite tasty and they have deviled eggs, for gosh sakes.

Re: “Rosedale Barbeque

One of my favorite BBQ joints. Their ribs are great but I usually settle on a beef brisket sandwich with their crispy fries and wonderful baked beans, finished off with an RC cola.

Re: “Arthur Bryant's Barbecue

A Kansas City institution... very good BBQ. Their sandwiches are enormous and the hot BBQ sauce is one of my favs. Yes, their place is greasy dive, but unlike other posters, I like this as this is how it has always been...

Re: “The Hideout

Love everything about this club but wish the smoking was kept to the outside. Great music, best bar food in town and absolutely awesome people working there.

Re: “Sprint Center

An excellent place to see live music shows and the city is hopeful for a sports team to relocate here.
