I love the food here, but the service is not so good. Is like they do not care if you come back or not. they do not treat you bad but is not attentive. the last 2 visits the order was not right, the first one was to go and the food was not as I ordered. and this last one they took so long for bring our food (and was not really busy) and never brought all the drinks (and the owner was there chatting with clients/friends). I went to tell the only waitress that the drinks were not complete, never got it. And when I paid she was mad because I asked separate tickets and even made a face to me. Really I like the food, do not like the service. It is sad that the owner is there and is not helping her to give a better service.
Typical franchise food like Applebee's.
I would be happy to give them 4 stars, as their food is good, but be prepared for the slow and spotty service. I have eaten there 10 - 15 times (they are very conveniently located for me at lunchtime) since they opened, but I don't go more often because it takes so long. Also, there are not many lowfat options - lots of deliciously unhealthy ones though!
Bloomin’ Onion, Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie, Angus strip steak, Sydney’s Sinful Sundae are awesome at Outback Steakhouse.

They still have the best pizza and sandwiches, but the redecorating is BORING. It used to be my favorite restaurant because it had charisma and was out of the ordinary.
I can understand them needing to clean it up a bit, but boring decor in Midtown? NOT smart.
As a rough-neck roadhouse, the bar is what it is, but to be credible as a live-music venue, they need to fix the sound system. Every time we've been there, the sound system sucks. There is a nearly constant, loud buzz (imagine florescent light hooked up to an amp), annoying no matter what your musical preference. Sound guy couldn't get vocals to come through to save his soul from Donny Osmond.

Far and above the best cheesesteaks in the city. While the menu is extensive, it is overpriced. The portions are moderately sized and don't let you leave feeling full. The service is fine when the restaurant isn't crowded, but when it is busy the service is terrible - they are inattentive, do not let you know ahead of time when certain items will take longer to prepare (read: cheesesteaks when they have many orders), and bring you cold soup.
Overall a fun place to eat, as long as you order the right things and come at the right time.

Greasy Burger and greasier fries. Good Diet Cokes. Somewhat disappointed because I had heard good things about Five Guys.

WARNING PARENTS WITH SMALL CHILDREN!!!!!!......Kokopelli's could care less for your business. My husband and I have been regular customer's of Kokopelli. On the above date we arrived early with our 16 mos. old in anticipation of recieving a booth that would accomadate a high chair. We purposely arrived early in hopes of finding a booth available. Upon our arrival, the parking lot was empty and restaurant was not busy. We were met by the RUDE and INEXPERIENCED hostess who we have encountered before on previous visits. On those previous visits, the same hostess informed us that the only booth that could accomadate a high chair was at the front of the restaurant. We have sat at this "booth" many times. On this visit, she rudly told us they could not seat at us at the "empty" booth with a high chair because they were anticipating being "busy". She was obviouly put out by our request as she has been on previous visits. She gave us no alternatives and escorted us to a table in the center of the dining room, all while mumbling under her breath. She did not ask if the seat was exceptable to us, nor did she care. Seating in the center of the dining room could be liked to a hospital waiting room....very undesirable with zero privacy. Shocked at the inexcusable rudeness of the hostess, I asked to speak to a manager. Mary came to our table and explained that booths for high chairs were also available in the back of the restaurant, an option we were not offered. Mary begrudedly offered to let us move but it was too little too late once we got the little one settled at the table. In this economy, going the extra mile to accomadate every customer is important. That did not happen in this case, nor did the hostess or Mary care to make sure we were happy. We eat out offen and understand when a restaurant is full and when tables are occupied, but the restaurant at the time of our arrival was NOT busy and no alternatives were offered to us at the time of seating. We will not tolerate rudeness or an eating establishment not going to extra mile when we eat out. It's not as if we were eating at Plaza lll. Our issue is with the hostess and management's handling of seating arrangments and not the service we recieved from our server, Vicki. We will return to our mexican restaurant of choice, Cactus Grill in Prairie Village. They always manage to accomadate our high chair booth request with a smile on their face. WE are sorry, Cactus Grill, that we strayed.

I gave Baja a 3 because it wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable. I expect a corporate feel when eating at restaurants on the Plaza, but it just didn't do much for me, like it almost needed more of a niche to make it interesting. The service was good. The food was alright, and the portions were large (the quesadilla appetizer was the largest I've ever seen), and the prices match the size. You'll leave full, but there won't be much to pull you back in again. As for vegetarians, those choices are pretty limited, mostly to the typical cheese enchilada type of items (and a few salads).
You would be better at any of the places on the Boulevard, or go a bit further south to Jalapeno's or Casa Del Rey.

I think the best thing it has going for it is the location. I don't like their beans or tamales and the chile rellano was pretty bad the day I was last there. It's ok for a quick lunch.

We went to Jess & Jim's on a whim one night and wasn't totally disappointed, but definitely wasn't impressed either; especially with their reputation.
I actually ordered the chicken fried steak, so I can't give my personal opinion on the actual steaks, but the my meal was pretty good. Honestly, one of the best chicken friend steaks I've had in quite a while; the fries, beef soup and garlic bread were also quite good.
My fiance got the surf and turf while his brother got just a t-bone. The lobster was apparently very good, but both the steaks were not up to par. We may be a bit snobby when it comes to steak (we'd rather eat them at home, haha) but for the price and the impression that we were coming to this well-known steakhouse, the food just wasn't mindblowing.
I'd have no problem going back and trying something else, but my hopes won't be so high this time!

I went to lunch on a Friday, and the place was jammed, but with only two servers who really weren't prepared for such a big crowd. Aside from the service, I was very disappointed with the food, which surprisingly wasn't very authentic. I'm a Korean from Central Asia, so maybe our style is slightly different, but my lunch was mostly bland and not spicy overall. I was really looking forward to the blood sausage (soondae), but it did not meet my expectations. It's not how it was portrayed in the recent Pitch review.

The food was ok - nothing really great. Tasted like any other burger even if I did get elk.
The beer was warm and I thought the meal was over priced.

The building is gorgeous and so was the presentation of the food. However, the flavor and tastes did not match either of those good qualities.
I order fish and chips, while my wife ordered a pasta/chicken special. Needless to say, both were very bland and uneventful other than the before mentioned presentation. Fish and Chips at many other places is better and better value.
Overall, quality of food was not commensurate with the prices.

I had high hopes for this restaurant when looking for a good Chinese place in the Brookside area....and after reading the Pitch's pitch, I thought it was a sure bet! Sadly, that was not so. The service was terrible, and the food really not that much better. Their hot and sour soup was reasonable though. Outside of that, their appetizers are all very greasy and their menu lacks much in the way of descriptions - you get the name of the dish and not much else. So I'm still in search of a good Chinese food place in the area....

Until last night, was one of my weeknight favs. Last night, everything was off. Meatballs were like sawdust, the penne; overcooked, the diablo sauce; something was missing from the usual much loved sauce. Friends ordered pasta with cream sauces which were like wall paper paste. One sent hers back, they remade the dish and it improved somewhat. Hopefully they won't loose the original receipes when they move down Main.

Re: “Thirsty Ernie's”
On normal circumstances I love coming to Thirsty Ernie's. Last weekend.... not good at all. They have 3 servers that are AMAZING....when they are working they keep that bar going. I noticed only one was there ..Chantel which was not herself. She was rude and short with everyone. Not sure if she was upset about something but not her norm. The other two I L-O-V-E...... and make sure I find them when I first walk in to be seated... mel and Evette. Both were not working this past weekend....???????? For the sake of Ernie's only good help left I hope for your own good that these 2 still work for you. Place is a disappointment without them and the quality of service and personality of Chantel and the other 2 who were WORTHLESS and all three are too heavy to be wearing what they do. Proven by only 6 people in your bar Saturday. Friday maybe 12. We usually come in a larger group and our group LOVES evette ,mellisa and chantel The 3 are a true power house and they ROCK. Keep doing what your doing girls.... Your the reason we continue to come in WEEKLY. your customers do notice these things.. Hope you as management understnad that one. God knows these girls keep your bar open. I hope this weekend isnt like last. I hope my girls are there!!! WE MISSED YOU!!!!! we left and went to F & J's..... Sorry Ernie just wasn't worth being there.
