Re: “At the Belger, a look at the architectures of victory and decay

Tracy, thanks for such a great article. Your pieces are part of that history too…producing documents that one day will be glimpses into the past. We saw the show and its amazing! Both of our maternal grandfathers worked at the Pratt-Whitney facility during and after WW II. As you implied too there are many great industrial sites that are still going as well as the others that are gone. I think of seeing the hot steel roll out of the mills in Sheffield while on the bus or the old Northeast power station that used to sit just east of the Capri casino that I used to work at. The turbine room at the steam plant, 2nd and Grand, is incredible still. Garry Noland

Re: “Jun Kaneko's art is big yet rich with tiny detail

Ran into Sherry Leedy Gallery today to see this show. It was heaven, and enjoyed some really fantastic input and tidbits from Dean in the gallery about Kaneko's work and processes. Very glad for the article, thank you.

Re: “With Mount, Haw Contemporary opens big — and small

Thank you Liz Cook for taking the time to review Mount. Rarely do I get to read something written with such critical and heartfelt consideration. The fact that this is a review of one of my projects makes me proud to know such fantastic artists and be able to bring them together under one roof.
Sincerely,
Peregrine Honig

Re: “Jessica Brandl gets a handle on Manifest Destiny and the Midwest

Thanks to the Pitch and especially writer Liz Cook for this article. We really enjoyed having Jessica as a resident artist and the exhibit has been hugely popular with visitors and collectors. The work will be on display through Saturday, June 29, on the third floor of the Belger Arts Center / Red Star Studios.

Re: “Brushing up against the Kansas City Plein Air Coterie

These people do amazing work. Several of them are art teachers or professors themselves but they also welcome beginners. Nice story and congrats to this group on one year of weekly outdoor painting sessions across the city.

Re: “Linda Lighton and Taking Aim are suddenly on target

F her and all the bleeding heart a holes who dislike guns. I dislike Abortion, but it's the law and so you can kill a million babies a year and I don't march saying you don't NEED to have sex anymore since some people are using abortion as a means of birth control.

The 2nd amendment guarantees the right of American citizens to keep and bear arms to protect themselves .... from anyone, inclulding their own government. It doesn't specify only guns that some people like, only hunting rifles or anything else.

you want same sex marriage - fine
you want to murder your own babies - fine
you want to take my right to protect myself with the gun of my choice....BANG!
