Re: “Teresa's Drive-In is still in the fast lane after 47 years

I worked at Teresa's WAY back when I was a teenager too. This was back when Sam's parents, Sam & Marie still owned the place. Mr. Gallo made all the sausage, steaks, and tenderloins by hand and of course we made the onion rings by hand during the night shift. Even the taco shells were freshly made. And those wonderful malts...OMG. Still when I drive by I have to stop in.

Re: “Teresa's Drive-In is still in the fast lane after 47 years

My parents grew up going here and knows the family. We moved away in 1981 but we go there every time we go back. They do have the best pork tenderloin, Italian steak and Italian sausage sandwiches. This coming from someone who has traveled all over the world. They also make their own sausage. This is a real piece of American history. I have tried to get Diners, Drive-ins and Dives to come here. This place holds a special place in our family memories. I would recommend any of their specialities and the tacos. Order the sausage for the holidays.

Re: “It looks like Uber will stay in Kansas City, after all

UBER is catching on in USA. But there are many who are concerned about it being Non-Regulated meaning like the City Taxi Commission compliance requirements.

Some of the biggest concerns are:
1. Are the drivers screened?
2. Is the vehicle regularly inspected? Who has oversight at a Central Level? (Equivalent of Taxi & Limo Commission in NYC?)

3. What kind of Insurance do they carry? Is there a common "Insurance Agency" ?

4. What is the data Security provision? … APPS are fine, but it appears the UBER drivers have a lot of your personal info on their Phones related to potential Customers: Your Payment Card, addresses From and To, establishments visited, and more.

5. Issues in other parts of the world reported include:Driver Raping passenger, Driver dumping vehicle if accident is bad – disappearing act, etc.

6. If you die in a crash or are disabled — WHO is the Insurance holder, who will cover the Liability? Is there one SUPER "Uber's Corporate" Insurance Agency - a single point of contact to deal with?

Finally, keep in mind that EI countries such as Germany, Spain and others have mot allowed UBER operation unless and until UBER complies with certain provisions.

Re: “It looks like Uber will stay in Kansas City, after all

Ya, Uber, the great liberator you are. You've majestically squeezed yourself into an existing market and dwindled down worker benefits and protections even more while your $40 billion market value is carried on the back of others who don't get a sniff of such wealth. If you're creating new jobs they are low-quality, low-paying jobs and even lower benefits than even Walmart. If you've accomplished anything is highlight the desperate need for work of the under and unemployed trying to make it.

Re: “It looks like Uber will stay in Kansas City, after all

"It's exactly what our goals were with this. The city is recognizing that we're in the exact same business. The provisions apply across the board to taxis and TNCs. And they've reduced permit fees, which saves us money, too, so no argument there. We've said all along we're on board as long as you treat us all the same."

So I think it is time to end the bullshit meme about Yellow Cab having a monopoly and trying to push Uber out.

$3000 divided by 6. That's $500 a month for rent. What's the big deal?

There are still plenty of very affordable areas to live here. I don't think he was talking about the top of the market in any area.

Re: “Watch this commercial for racist tourism in Missouri

I have seen this commercial and it doesn't say any of that crap, some one voiced over then placed it on the internet, I am not saying what the guy says in the commercial isn't true, but that commercial was not aired on TV the way its being portrayed.

What a terrible one-sided video. Who ever made that video should be sued.

Yeah no shit, unless you get government assistance pretty much all the lofts in City Market and Crossroads (and especially in the downtown loop) are $1500+
