Re: “Johnson County won't appoint public health official that anti-abortion group doesn't like

Oh, great - another abortion story to bring "Jack" crawling out from under his rock.

Re: “Why is a new, no-kill animal shelter still sitting empty in Independence?

Independence animal shelter-may as well take your dog from there straight to the vet because it's going to have parvo! And don't use the vet on the south side of 23rd street, I took my dog there and requested an IV because he was dehydrated from vomiting. They did NOTHING-and my dog died. {they did not want to go to the trouble of sanitizing the room afterwards-they isolated him and LET HIM DIE a horrible death)It really broke my heart. I feel like I let my best buddy down because I trusted a vet to do what he was supposed to do and I went to work. It was Three Trails Animal shelter-I would suggest another vet that actually cares about LIFE.

Screw you Three Trails animal hospital! I hope the place burns down and you all die.

Nice. I always thought KC could use something like "This Land Press" out of Oklahoma.

Re: “"Right to farm" doesn't mean farming right. Far from it

Since "corporations are people, my friend," it doesn't take an attorney from the Revisor's Office to figure out what this boondoggle is all about.

Intensive hog and chicken farming polluting groundwater, streams and rivers? Too bad, so sad. It's Tyson and Farmland's "right" to farm.

GMO crops cross-pollinating the neighbors corn field? Monsanto has a "right" to farm and protect their patents by suing the neighbor for "theft".

These are just a couple of examples of the potential here to strip the EPA and State agencies of any power to regulate big agra and their environmentally unsound farming practices.

All cleverly disguised in another empty political soundbite that appeals to warm and fuzzy traditional values. Another big corporate Trojan Horse.

I mean, after all, who would vote against the right of good old Ma and Pa to work their 40 acres and the mule drawn plow?

More corporate lies and BS.

Don't fall for it.

Re: “City Ice Arts to close next month, reopen next year in the West Bottoms

After all this time and all the trouble to build this and establish it and now everybody takes a happy pill and says just fine. Go ahead, destroy it. This city is insane. It values nothing.

Re: “City Ice Arts to close next month, reopen next year in the West Bottoms

Nice, go to a bunch of trouble to renovate a cool historic space and then have the hospital take it over. I'm sure it was in the plan all along, but I'm bummed. I'm still grouchy over the hospital's decision to smash down the signal building that was at 21st & Oak (more or less); is expansion why the linen business building on Holmes was demo'd recently?

Re: “Your August 5 streetcar and Amendment 7 tax questions answered

these streetcars will make great urinals for the homeless. And great barf-bags for the late night partiers. Also a wicked canvas for all of the graffiti artists.

The government will win again. The biggest gang around.

please vote no. you will be taking a huge step backwards, after all of the progress we've made (kinda) in the last 15 years.

Re: “PBS' Ask This Old House fixed my kitchen yesterday

The use of different lighting for the before and after pictures, and cropping the soffit off of the after picture does not give a fair comparison.
