Re: “Making Movies celebrates the next phase in its career with an all-day block party

You should probably learn the difference between race and ethnicity. You can be Latino and still be considered white.

Re: “In the early '70s, Kansas City was young, high and horny, and everyone went to the Ballroom

I too grew up at Volker park, what a wonderful time. I remember every Sunday listening to the band's of the time and passing the hat to gather money to help pay the current band. Amazingly, my sister and I would go to see a great rock band at Cowtown Ballroom tripping R asses off on good mescaline. Afterwards we mellow out at Volker Park at nite with other concert gower's throw out the ole sleeping blankets and drink some cheap wine and smoke some pot. Those were the days my friends and I hated too see them come to end! Ahh, youth... Gofast.

All you old KC hippies from the late 60s, early 70s should check out my novel Last One to Kansas City is a Hippie, available on Amazon.com. It's a tragicomedy set in both 1970 and 1993 with KC as the centerpiece. Enjoy!

Re: “Radkey’s opening slot on a major tour is just the ticket

The KC area music scene needs more young bands like Radkey. It seems that the scene is saturated with a bunch of bands whose members are middle aged, or reunited bands from the 1980s and 90s.

They (Radkey) opened for The Stranglers in Chicago last year. Still kicking myself for missing that show.

Re: “The Pitch fall guide to music

You're seriously going to include Slipknot and Limp Bizkit but no mention of Big Gigantic or Airborne Toxic Event? Or is this your recommended list? Either way, WTF?

Re: “Mike Doughty's Soul Coughing demons still haunt him

So sad that I never got to see SC live but yeah, Mike seems to me just like a few of my highly artistic and highly addicted friends that I spent my twenties with and I never really let those people into my thirties... Too much drama...
