Re: “Sweat It Out

If you want to go into a sauna, go into a sauna - but don't pretend you're doing something healthy and spiritual for others by playing around with sweat lodges....

It is a sacred rite, NOT to be charged for, nor to participate with just your birthday suit on in mixed company. Ever.

Inipis (sweat lodge ceremonies) are to be run (in the Lakota way) by those who have sun danced for at least four years - and even then, that person is supposed to get "spiritual permission."

If a person has been drinking, they must wait at least twenty-four hours before going to an inipi ceremony. Anyone with potential health problems always alerts the one who runs the inipi. It is always about PRAYER - not a contest to see how hot it can get.

Re: “Good for the Belly

My partner and I ate at Cafe Cedar last Fall. All I recall about that place now is the religious tracts in the entryway. I didn't notice them on the way in, but they were placed in such a way that suggested they had management's blessing, so we've never been back. How does that square with belly dancers?!

Re: “Buzzard Beach

I guess this is supposed to be cute, but it's just tacky. Draws start at $1.50 and wells are only $3.75 every day, so this lady is just fine with staying there til 3 am.

Re: “Get Scootin'

After folowing the non-linked link and getting and image with NO information about this event I searched and found http://www.madtoto.com/rally-2....

Also, using relative terms for time (like, "today" in this article) don't hold up well on the web since today is Wednesday and this event starts Friday.

Re: “Party Like You're 200 Years Old

Umm...could we say which library? Or shall we just assume that "the" library is the Downtown one?
