Sweet to know that I being a KCMO PD I will be sitting at the park waiting for you all to leave so I can issue you all drunk driving tickets...Oh, and MUSA I know you are hidding out at Gilham park on Wed and that just so happens to be where I like to nab my "kickball junkies" after each game and issue my DUI tickets. Hay, I have to help make up the funds when we lose our city tax...you have been warned :)

I am suprised at this comment. Let me guess--you attend what you think is a yoga class by someone who has a subconscious competitive attitude about the fact that a relatively unknown girl can walk onto the scene and gather the following by destiny and sheer love for the roots of the tradition to be named such a thing which, to my knowledge, has never been publicly recognized before by any mass media in the Kansas City Metro Area or even the region besides, possibly, Chicago.
I am honored that my students--who were all beautiful, dedicated, bright, powerfully talented people of all walks of life--a vast majority of them leaders--in the Art District, as well as all the way down south as far as 151st, possibly further--would pow-wow around the ideas I was spitting and put Power Yoga on the map. Not for me. Not for Asiatic spiritual practices that the country needs like salve on a lifelong wound. Not for Kest/Santa Monica Power Yoga, which I gave all my life force energy to sharing for three years teaching at some of the finest shalas in the area because my heart told me to, and I saw result. Period. But for the benefit of anyone who came to any one of my classes in the hopes that there was more of themselves to access and that there was nothing more I, as a soul, living on this planet, would like to empower than that.
My understanding is that the woman who wrote this accurate synopsis of my classes out of a particular space, at that particular time in my teaching, was a dedicated aspirant in my class. She is a rarity, at this point, for most News Journalists, and in my fair opinion, is a natural teacher who could also benefit the tradition.
If U cannot handle the somewhat abrasive quality of "The Pitch," why R U reading it?
As an honest-to-goodness spiritual devotee, I am grateful that The Pitch helped to expose my teaching, yoga, in general, and certainly Power Yoga, in 2007, which helped calm, center, and bring balance to the yogic Force in Kansas City, in my humble opinion.
Just so you know, expressions like this are a huge part of the reason I elected to move away from Kansas City.
So unkind. So judgmental.
Where is your love?
Enlightenment within, shining to the out to you and the entire city.

P.S. The burning, however, is actually what the holy disciples were looking for. What we call a workout, Indians call flowing "asana," doing it for a different reason, and in my experience, it does, in complete and total fact, burn off all forms of impurities and leave little else to be experienced except one's unique, personal expression of Source. God. Be at peace. Satya 2 U.

Where does the $275 entry fee go? The fields are crappy and you have to ref your own games.

Jerry, the category is for best coach in 2010 not ever. Even with 3 loses to KU, bringing in the players he did to Manhattan to go from no appearance in the tourny to Elite 8 in one year was a far more impressive coaching job than KU's #1 ranked team losing in the second round. Bill Self even voted Kansas State to win the conference this year.
