"I feel your pain . . . it takes all kinds"??? How condescending! Seriously - Janovy would NOT have written the same piece if Semler were a member of Fred Phelp's church. What a hypocrite she is!

So its okay for a city leader to be a known racist? Do you understand what racism is? Please look up the answer in the dictionary or better yet ASK A MINORITY. It is INSTITUTIONALIZED HATRED towards a WHOLE GROUP of people. It is INTENT to hurt to maliciously discriminate. When will you so-called "understanding" white people ("I feel your pain", but hey stop complaining b/c as someone NOT at the recieving end of this hatred, I just think you should) stop telling us minorities what to feel? Your article was nothing short of an insult from line to line to line. It was hurtful to read and it said clearly: forget what a whole section of our city feels, let's protect our Mayor. What hogwash.

Big problem with the ACLU is that they like to pick what are rights and what are not.I see in this piece that the quote of what the Constitution states on freedom of religion is correct. No where in the Constitution is there a statement of separation of church and state. Absolutely nowhere. It states that the goverment will not establish a religion. In other words they did not want a religion like England had in the Church of England and everyone was forced to go to that church. But no place in the Constitution was there meant to be a ban on praying in school, being able to read the Ten Commandments or any type of behavior. As long as no one FORCED you to go along with it. Our forefathers where very religious people. This country was founded because people came here for religious freedoms, not religious bans. Any person, I mean any person that tries to say the Constitution states a separation of church and state just listens to the far leftist bull and has never taken the time to read it themselves. The only place where that statement even came from was from letters written by Thomas Jefferson, not in the U.S. Constitution.
