Jason Harper, you just offended over 500 local bands. Good luck getting any respect for your cynical hipster point of view now. Interestingly enough The Architects are actually one of the bands on the bandsacrosskansascity site. Crappy or not? Jason... their your buddies so you tell us. That is your method of determining whether or not a band is any good, right? I guess you just haven't grown out of your "too cool" phase yet. Don't worry buddy those balls will drop soon enough and then you can have an opinion of your own.
Bands Across Kansas City and Time Warner's KC On Demand channel are offering ways for any local band to put themselves in front of music fans cheaply, and we hope effectively, and in a way that encourages the community to support these bands at live shows and in the record stores. We know there are challenges for all of us who either create or enjoy what we call local music. As a direct result, Time Warner's KC On Demand channel offers all KC based musicians the opportunity to share their songs for free with the music lovers in Kansas City. Bands can submit videos directly to the KC On Demand channel on DVD-R or mini-dv tape. The only guidelines are that the videos be G or PG and the audio quality listenable. Drop them off at 8221 W. 119th St. Overland Park, KS.

It pisses me off when a local music magazine...such as the "bitch", immediately tears down and degrades an outfit that is trying to help a strong KC music scene. Maybe the focus is not perfect or there are better ways to go about it...(not battling), but at least it is an effort. Not many other groups are trying to get awareness on that level. Why doesn't the Bitch write another article about the Roman Numerals or the Architects? (by the way, neither one of those bands are famous nationally) That is what we need in this scene..the same shitty article about the same bands...Finally, I went to the Pitch awards shows in Westport a couple years ago. I wouldn't be bashing any other band competetions....it sucked ass. That is why I didn't go this past year.

a little crow told me that american catastrophe was going to be playing with strawfoot (st. louis) and pinebox serenade (denton) in april...I do hope it's true, that could be some of the finest, darkest americana ever witnessed in these here parts.

What a great event!! Spinstyles did NOT win by a landslide. If Sku would've had a better time slot I'm convinced he would've won hands down. Props to all the dj's!! I had a blast!! Hey Pitch, this needs to happen more often!! Maybe monthly or something. I would like to see what kc has to offer dj wise.

Spinstyles definitely killed it that night! He won by a landslide as far as I'm concerned and deserves the trip to Miami more than any of the other DJ's. He's going places fo sho!
