Re: “Is City Council candidate Tracy Ward a breath of fresh air or a political exhibitionist?

What a breath of fresh air. All politicians know red light cameras are unconstitutional, but they turn their heads to it because they always need more. It's great to see someone standing up for our rights. It seems like this young lady understands what so many politicians have forgotten, she'd be an employee of the people, not the other way around.

Tracy is a true Liberty Candidate and the local community is very lucky to have this wonderful upstanding liberty lover running for office. Real People are what we need to take our country back one county at a time, one town at a time. She is a breath of fresh air! No more criminals running our government. If you want liberty you have to vote for it!

Well So Pink is bright. No different than a lady covering her grey with Clairol! People need to quit judging a book by it's cover! Would you not read a great work of Emmerson if the cover were tattered. People just aren't used to someone that actually wants to listen to the people, but it is what we need. No one has been listening for years. They hear us, but now they need to listen.

Re: “Is City Council candidate Tracy Ward a breath of fresh air or a political exhibitionist?

I find it very refreshing! For one she is just like the every day citizen. She isnt in the corporate sponsors pockets like candidates in the past. How much better would Mr Jolly do, since his wife did nothing really except make promises to organizations such as Young Marines and Not show up. Or Make a camera appearance and do nothing but get in her car and leave once the media is through? It is time for a change Kansas City, time to let someone who knows what it is like to live among the people, and not look down on them/

Re: “Is City Council candidate Tracy Ward a breath of fresh air or a political exhibitionist?

I seriously doubt the character and qualifications of anyone who deliberately makes themselves into a florescent, Barbie-fashion reject. Especially when they step in birther & truther crap over in nutjob territory. Or maybe she wants to hangout with Van Jones? Tracy Ward, I love your Libertarian heart and the fire in your belly, but I doubt you'll ever be a serious politician affecting practical change. Finally, to the author, 'spending & services' ARE NOT entirely the same thing. KCMO has crappy services, which are better than no services - the Police & Fire being in dispensable - but a good chunk o' tax dollars is spent on inefficient, out-dated and bloated bureaucracy, used to pay off cronies & unions, and on colossal kay barnes downtown money pits which the remaining taxpayers are saddled with.... All the others voted a long time ago with their feet, which is why the population density of the KC Metro area looks like a donut. The definition of insanity is.....

Cutting spending equals cutting services? Really. I can cut my grocery bill without giving up eating.

"The tax, should voters eliminate it, will fade away in 0.10-percent increments over a period of 10 years." If it were .10 percent increments, wouldn't it take 100 years? Maybe you mean 10% increments. I don't know, math is hard.

The city does waste a lot of money - & needs non-corrupt oversight to audit everything, and roll some heads, not just file a discilinary action

Re: “Is City Council candidate Tracy Ward a breath of fresh air or a political exhibitionist?

If you vote for a politician, you know exactly what you'll get. More of the same. Crappy services, shitty attitude, and pre-planned one line answers to all questions. Tracy believes that the people who are elected should actually be accountable and listen to the people who elect them. She may not have all the answers, but at least she knows and admits she doesn't. Politicians "know" what is best for you. Stop electing politicians, and learn to be a responsible citizen.

Re: “Is City Council candidate Tracy Ward a breath of fresh air or a political exhibitionist?

Of course, spending and services are the same thing WRONG!! City is spending hundreds of millions on trophy projects. These are not services, but monuments to the arrogance of the City Council and the greed of the contractors who they work for.

Re: “The city finds $1.1 million to buy parkland it doesn't want or need

Another good reason to dump the E-tax. Vote No E-Tax.

Most libertarians are just republicans in sheep's clothing.

Re: “Don Bell believed that God smiled on his bank – but now God’s frowning

Don Bell is known mostly in the building business as being as crooked as a right angle. I lived in a Brittany Development and a house that Don Bell's company built and it was the most worthless dwelling I have ever seen. Everything was cheap...windows, siding, craftmanship, exterior grade, concrete, paint...I think you get the picture. I have worked with his development partners and they all have been jilted one way or another.

Re: “Though it’s anything but disadvantaged, Mark One Electric Company gets minority-hiring contracts

I have known the Priviteras personally for many years, before Red's retirement. Rosie is very hard working and very smart. However, they purposely planned to put her in the position of president specifically to get minority status. They used to laugh about it constantly.

Re: “City Council members want to take on the Port Authority debacle. But their fetish for foiling the mayor made them late to the fight

KCMO needs to change it's motto and add the word "dosen't" to "A city that (doesn't) work". What a bunch of pieces of crap the city coucil are. Never in the history of KCMO has the perfect person to take the job as Mayor, come to participte. Mayor Funkhouser as prior city auditor, had the most indepth knowledge of the finances of this city. This mancould have made magnificent imprvements to the city, unfortunately the inbreds in city council didn't like him so they ruined not only his career, but their own. If any of them had a clue what it takes to have to earn a living fore themselves, they'd be employed somewhere. All my life this city has had nothing but losers in the council.
