Re: “JoCo Superstars

Crystal,

Good article, enjoyed the read! I'm sure Dillon (DeVoe) winced at the Panic at the Disco comparison! He made it sound easy, but it was a lot of hard work to get where they are now...They were making trips to play down in Dallas before any of them was old enough to vote...Playing Country Bars and having their $600 van blow up in the middle of nowhere TX at midnight!

They deserve everything they get and although it is a long road, they are off to a good start. Hopefully it's the continuation of a burgeoning KC music scene!

Their reign is just beginning.

Re: “Two Sides of Solo

This article was recommended to me by a friend. Having read it, I must comment that I hope it wasn't a cover story, as suggested by the friend who recommended it.

It reads more like a gossip column / blog by someone who wants to pimp her friend's non-achieving musical projects. Where is the release? Where is the video? Why all the references to virginity and boyfriends (and why no context for who the two brothers are -- there is an allusion that I should know who they are, but, uhhh, I don't)? Where is the STORY? WHAT is the story?

If this is "journalism," I'm confused, although it has been decades since undergraduate school. So I don't remember all of the "5 commandments of journalism," or 10, or 7, or whatever, but I'm pretty sure that this "cover story" breaks most of them. "You are not your reader," for one. Jeepers.

I read The Pitch occasionally. And more often than I would like, I am embarrassed for y'all. This is one of those occasions.

Re: “No Static at All

Internet broadcasters pay royalties at a SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER rate than terrestrial radio. Once again, a lack of knowledge and research completely skew what could have been a good story.
