Re: “Kansas politics: still dumber than you think

Excuse me for saying so, but you seem dumber than the Legislature. They are NOT deliberating whether to ban smoking. If they were, I would be supporting it myself. The minute the State bans the selling of all tobacco products, and relinquishes their revenue from it, we will have a ban. Banning the use of tobacco in small businesses bans nothing, except the practice of free trade, and personal responsibility. Please call a spade a spade. This hypocrasy that YOU call a ban, is bunk, and balderdash.

Re: “Jack Cashill Loves
Scott Roeder

Dear Mr. Rugg: I realize that the Tiller case is very controversial, but I think that you are being a bit unfair to Dr. Cashill. As I see it, his point was simply that in the US we often romanticize those who claim to be "punishing those whom the law cannot punish." And, looking around the world in recent decades, a certain amount of healthy skepticism is fully justified concerning societies that slap the term 'terrorist" on anyone whose politics they don't like. Remember, Nelson Mandella spent 28 years at hard labor under South Africa's "Defense Against Terrorism Act." Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans
