Re: “So Long, Rev

Dead of lung cancer at age 57...Looks as though Puscheck finally encountered something he had to take seriously. Sure do wish I could think of something nice to say about this guy. But I can't.

Re: “Head on up to Gladstone tonight for Rollin' Coal Truck Night and oh no what is 'rollin' coal'?

Funniest part is that the modifications to make this possible also decrease the life expectancy of modern diesel engines. So these guys are literally paying thousands of dollars to damage their own trucks!

Re: “Head on up to Gladstone tonight for Rollin' Coal Truck Night and oh no what is 'rollin' coal'?

This is about diesel engines and the illegal modifications made to them by trolls(?) who like to "strike back" at environmentalism and environmentalists. You'll find online photos and videos of these and similar offenders as they blow massive amounts of thick, black diesel exhaust directly at pedestrian protesters, bicyclists, Prius drivers, etc... It's a deliberate violation of the Clean Air Act, and legal action will be pursued via the EPA and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

[ It is a violation of the [Clean Air Act] to manufacture, sell, or install a part for a motor vehicle that bypasses, defeats, or renders inoperative any emission control device. For example, computer software that alters diesel fuel injection timing is a defeat device. Defeat devices, which are often sold to enhance engine performance, work by disabling a vehicle's emission controls, causing air pollution. As a result of EPA enforcement, some of the largest manufacturers of defeat devices have agreed to pay penalties and stop the sale of defeat devices.
...
The CAA prohibits anyone from tampering with an emission control device on a motor vehicle by removing it or making it inoperable prior to or after the sale or delivery to the buyer. A vehicle's emission control system is designed to limit emissions of harmful pollutants from vehicles or engines. EPA works with manufacturers to ensure that they design their components with tamper-proofing, addresses trade groups to educate mechanics about the importance of maintaining the emission control systems, and prosecutes cases where significant or imminent harm is occurring.]

Re: “Head on up to Gladstone tonight for Rollin' Coal Truck Night and oh no what is 'rollin' coal'?

The additive the first poster is talking about was called MTBE (Methyl tert-butyl ether) which when added to gasoline was an oxygenator so the fuel burned cleaner. In 2005 Congress removed the MTBE/oxygenator from gasoline, and ethanol blending standards (the new clean fuel standard laws) were introduced nationwide. There's other stuff, but you can read it from the source.

Re: “Head on up to Gladstone tonight for Rollin' Coal Truck Night and oh no what is 'rollin' coal'?

I remember reading that the additive in diesel fuel that changed the exhaust from coal-colored to clear in the 1980's or whatever was actually more of a pollutant, worse for asthma than the earlier fuel. But I'd like to know more about the science. Is there a reporter who will update this article? What exactly do people put into modern diesel to make it black like this? And what was it that they started adding to make diesel fuel exhaust colorless?

This pastime is idiotic but the fact Hudnall can't "report" on the subject without sounding like a bearded, bespectacled hipster doesn't help. Stick with the facts and leave the insults on your twitter feed.

Re: “Tim Coppinger, recently busted by the FTC for illegal payday-lending scheme, still belongs to Indian Hills Country Club

"Just because these guys made some money doing what they did doesn't make them any worse than you. You're just as immoral as you claim these people are."

Oh for Christ's sake. Your moral compass is absolutely fucked if you think that actively exploiting the poor for personal gain is on par with a bit of justified public shaming. "Oh, my poor wife is just getting so much side eye at the country club after that liberal rag the Pitch wrote that article about my golf outings." Once he gets involved with some other bullshit scam to rip off people he won't even take notice of these articles because he will start making a shit load of money again. I'm guessing he is going to start promoting cheap auto insurance online as that seems to be the hot new trend with these blood suckers. He is gonna be just fine.

Re: “Head on up to Gladstone tonight for Rollin' Coal Truck Night and oh no what is 'rollin' coal'?

this coal rolling is not something to mess around with a few months ago my wife and i were out walking our pomeranian and my neighbor who has one of these trucks was mad that my little pup went number two in his yard one time (i had no bags with me) he then started hurling expletives (i won't repeat on this family site) and then unleased a mass of smoke on me which of course caused a flare up of my angina and of course when that happens you can bet there will be gut issues i won't go into that but lets just say my wife wasnt happy with the load of laundry she had to do that night. thanks to janine to sent this link to me.

Cover the event in an airtight bubble and we'll get a little chlorine in the gene pool.

Thank you for being the only news outlet that cares. A bunch of us have been complaining to the dealership on Facebook and the City of Gladstone is looking into it. But the dealership doesn't seem to care. Hope they don't have kids with asthma.
