Re: “Push back from business community on KCMO minimum wage is underway

I own a brand new small business, and we cannot afford to pay that wage. I have invested all my savings, work 15-20 hrs every single day. I am on the line for this business, and it is stimulating local economy and local goods. When everything is all said and done, i don't even make $15 an hour, which is pretty typical for new small businesses.

Not only will we not be able to pay employees, it would probably kill our business. i suspect i'm not alone. That's going to be the effect of this: put a lot of small business out of business. As a result of less businesses, there are less people to pay $15, and more workers out of a job. It would completely backfire. I' am not saying people don't deserve a decent wage, but there are better ways.

Increase the EITC. This will be a job killer.

Any company that did those 4 bullet points would no longer get my business, and my guess is so would other socially aware individuals. So follow through with your veiled threats are your own peril KC Chamber.

Re: “Eric 'Mean' Melin gives us the rundown on Saturday's U.S. Air Guitar qualifier at RecordBar

A packed house for this bullshit??? And a number of great live bands are playing to empty rooms all around the world . Sign of the times.

Re: “Push back from business community on KCMO minimum wage is underway

Everyone should make $15 per hour. Regardless of education and ability. It can be easily funded by reducing the salary of everyone that makes more than $15 per hour. Step up Mayor James, reduce the salary of all city employees (including your own) and show your support.

Re: “Josey Records, out of Dallas, is coming to Kansas City

I don't see this as good news. I will continue to support locally owned record stores like Seventh Heaven, Mills Record Company, etc.
