Re: “BEST BAR SCENE

The Colonial Club is the best place to be on Strawberry Hill. Under new ownership, Greg Conchola has brought in great signature drinks (Colonial Punch packs a great left hook!) and fabulous new menu with a full menu plus daily food specials. Stop in for a little Strawberry Hill history and great food and drink.

Re: “BEST BAR SCENE

Sammy Fabac ran a great bar (and was a great cousin!). The Colonial was formerly nicknamed "Shorty's" and then "Cliff's" after respective bartender/owners. Breit's has my vote as the best one now.

Re: “BEST IRISH PUB

Hooray for Llywelyn's!!!

I love the place and am fortunate to live within walking distance (although I've never actually *had* to walk home, haha). I'm sort of in a rut and usually order a sausage sandwich (served on a pretzel roll with totally awesome Irish whisky mustard) and a Black & Tan to wash it down. Here's a link to the dinner menu: http://llywelynspub.com/menu/dining-menu

Totally agree that it's the best pub in Kansas City--way to go, Llywelyn's!!!

Re: “Best Bar You Didn't Know Existed

It says they have no tiki drinks or fruity concoctions... but they totally have frozen margaritas! And they are soooooo good. Love going to the zoo!

Re: “Best Bar to Blow Through a Roll of Quarters

Gotta love the Clarette - I would have voted it best place to blow off an afternoon of work!

Re: “Best Comeback Story

It is still shady. I went there a couple weeks ago with a friend and 3 girls. It was mostly dead, probably 6 other people in there. We're just standing around drinking off the the back side of the dance floor. All of a sudden 3 guys, much older too, swoop in and start grinding on the girls Night at the Roxbury style. After they kindly told them they weren't interested one of them actually followed one of the girls in our party INTO the bathroom. She came running out, and we left.

Fuck the Gusto. Rape bar.

Re: “Best Metaphor for Graduating From Mizzou

Snow and Co is definitely one-of-a-kind in Kansas City. For the niche they serve, they do it well. Their drinks are high quality and priced as such, but you can't buy their creativity elsewhere. While it's not necessarily my scene, I admire their ambition (the local write-ups provide good insight) as a local start-up, and I only wish the best for Andy and his partners! They take an active stance in supporting local community organizations and non-profits in providing a fun venue for gatherings and sharing information. I wish more business owners were as supportive to the community!

Re: “Best Bar to Hide Out

They should name this Kansas City's Best Place to hear "That's Not My Name" by the Ting Tings played three times in 20 minutes.

Re: “Best Metaphor for Graduating From Mizzou

I really enjoy the atmosphere at Snow and Co. It is definitely a go to for me when I am in the area. Always a great way to kick off an evening if nothing else!
