For the record: I did not have sporting relations with that disc, the frisbee.

Re: “Could there be new life for the Laugh-O-Gram building, the place where Walt Disney got his start in film?

A slightly older but much more detailed article for those who are interested. My wife worked for Dan Viets for about 10 years and I know that there was a ton of work and love poured into the Thank You Walt Disney group. Well worth the read for those who want to dig a bit deeper...

Re: “Royals fan Joe Hoffmann dedicates first plate to Don Denkinger at Flying Saucer in St. Louis

As always, KC fan shows total lack of class and character, just like that "other" team from MO.

I-70 rematch? Np problem. The Roy-Als have no shot... since MLB has replay now!

...but what was really notable was when Pearce caught wind of cops losing complete control of their judgment when they arrested Washington Post and Huffington Post reporters at a McDonald’s for no good reason....

It's extremely revealing that you think none of the preceding events were as notable, if not more notable, than the McDonald's arrests.

Re: “Crashing IHOP's annual Onething

When I was new to the area of KC, I went to IHOP because I knew there were a lot of people my age. Figured it would be a great place to meet new people. Warning, do not go there to make friends. They treat you like a lost soul and everyone seems to be there for some kind of spiritual journey and that's it!

I went to there "multi-purpose" room and met quite a few folks and I just happened to be at there internship meeting. One girl said, "Will you marry me?" I had never met her before or even knew her name. The pastor called me out in front of everyone and accused me of only being there to stalk a girl when I was there solely to meet new people. After 30 minutes, a male that I had talked with 15 minutes before the meeting started stood up and yelled, "HE's NOT ON THE LIST!!! HE DOES NOT BELONG HERE!" very charismatic with a cult culture and I thought we were friends, after all we had just talked and got to know each other a little bit. After the group meeting was over, I met a nice young man and talked to him for nearly 30 minutes. A few days later at one of the main services that he invited me too, I saw him and said hi to him and we almost butted heads and he didn't even recognize me or remembered my name. We had just talked on the phone no more than 10 minutes before I saw him! He looked lost just like the rest of them.

Not to mention, one of the leaders or helpers, would not stop asking me to find a place to sit for the sermon. I had work at 6am the next morning. I was standing against a pillar that wasn't an interruption. What's wrong with that? absolutely nothing. Apparently to the leaders there's something wrong with standing during a sermon against a pillar.

I figured I'd try out their coffee café. I introduced myself to 15 people within a week's period. It was a little ironic that the next time I'd see the same people, they'd ignore me after I said hello. Crazy, I knew all their names but they couldn't even remember mine. I swear reality is 10 miles away when you step foot at IHOP. If you go to their prayer room, all you're going to hear is the same phrase repeated over and over again. No need to actually go and hear what they have to say. You can pray at your own home, why go to a pre-determined place to go hear a phrase or saying 100 times every 10 minutes?

Hope this helps!!

Re: “Best Cajun Food

It's great that we came in 3rd Place tie, but were you guys aware that Nica's is no longer in business. I was going to let you know when the voting began but forgot. Oh well, nice to get a mention. Thanks

Made a special trip to Lawrence just to eat here and it did not disappoint. I had a pizza with freshly picked wild mushrooms and it was amazing. Can't wait to get back to Lawrence and try something else!

This restaurant owner is awesome. I plan on eating there very soon and taking my gf with me. Good job not backing down to bullies!

Black robes are so old fashioned. He should switch to something in a rainbow pattern.

So it's not Gillian Flynn, the Kansas City native who went to KU and currently has a New York Times bestseller. Are you kidding me, Pitch??

Absolutely original. The 2$-3$ "bites" of interesting and unusual cheeses/meats/fermented veggies are especially wonderful. Make sure you try the house pickles and sauerkraut.

Re: “Stanford's Comedy Club has closed its Legends location, plans to reopen in Overland Park

OP is not central to anyone other than the conservative white honkeys that would rather spend their money at TGI Fridays and The New Theater Restaurant.

A central location would be downtown. At least the Legends was 15 minutes away from downtown instead of 45. Good luck getting down to crackertown with all that traffic.

I work in JOCO and then do the smart thing and get the hell out of there, lest I become a franchise zombie. BOOOOOO!
