Re: “Joy Biggs watched her sister die in a jail cell over an ounce of pot

Kansas is a part of the Bible Belt....they are more strict on lesser crimes then most states In the union....I drive trucks 4 a living and I try 2 avoid going through Kansas simply because they look for trouble....I feel very sorry that this has happen to this family,to me it's just ridiculous that someone had to lose their life over some weed....smh

Can't catch real criminals so they go after recreational drug users.

Re: “Joy Biggs watched her sister die in a jail cell over an ounce of pot

Why doesn't The Pitch ever post any derogatory articles about Missouri? Missouri fought to keep slavery (and make other states slave states) and is the Meth capital of America. The Pitch is too busy pushing porn & prostitution to care about telling the truth. What a worthless trashy rag!

Re: “An in-house pastry chef is hard to find, but worth the search

I really love the print style hyphens in this article. Reading words like "ap-ple" and "men-tors" makes the article much more fun.

Great article. Love me some desert. Food for thought-haha, and I do often remember dessert longer than I remember the meal-for instance, the olive oil cake at Novel-Oh YUM!

Re: “Joy Biggs watched her sister die in a jail cell over an ounce of pot

The last time I drove to the west coast, I took I-44 west on the way out and I-80 east on the way back just so I didn't have to drive through kansas.

Re: “A raft of Kansas Republicans announce their endorsement of Democrat Paul Davis for governor

As an elderly life-long Kansas republican, I will vote for Davis and any Republican that supports him. If it comes to a choice between an ultra-conservative and a democrat, I will vote Democrat or Independent (wasted vote unfortunately). Those religious nutjobs running the state now are out of control and need some moderation. When I retire I am outa this shithole.

I can usually spot the ultra conservatives because they send me the most junk mail and call my home phone telling me who to vote for.

Re: “Rick Springfield on his first novel; at Starlight this Wednesday

Nothing quite like someone interviewing a writer on a book they not only haven't read but apparently haven't even tried to get a copy of. Well done!

Re: “Todd Akin has given it some thought and he's no longer sorry about that weird thing he said about rape

How is it a "media assassination" when you shoot yourself in the foot? This clown is just another example of the Sarah Palin-like politicians who have been liberated from their basement bunkers by big money and an exploitative agenda from the likes of the Kochs.

Re: “A raft of Kansas Republicans announce their endorsement of Democrat Paul Davis for governor

It is very apparent that Kansas has never been a "Red state" How may people work for the government? How many people are on welfare? Kansas is truly a welfare state that is anti business. Reality is that liberal trash politicians have made Kansas is what it is today and government employee heavy welfare state, all thanks to liberal republicans. Compare Texas and Kansas.. Texas has been ran by conservatives for years and look at the booming economy. The support of Davis is going to backfire politically on these "republicans". We need less taxes and a much smaller government. If we do this the state will prosper. If we elect another liberal it will only fail. Wake up Kansasans! If your state rep is listed as a supporter than vote against it. WE NEED LESS GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES!

Re: “John Middleton, scheduled for execution on Wednesday in Missouri, says he's innocent

There is no doubt that he and Maggie killed "Happy" and Stacy. Split hairs if you want on Pinegar, but the fact remains that they forced them into the trunk of a car, emptied their clip, and abandoned it in the woods. I admit freely a lack of objectivity...Happy was my cousin. I hope the fucker is dead by noon.
