Re: “Rex Sinquefield thinks raising the minimum wage is an injustice to African-Americans on par with police shootings

@stayinschool your statistics are wrong. I found the Bureau of Labor Statistics report for 2014. It says that over half of minimum wage workers are over 25. How is that possible if the "overwhelming majority" as you claim are teenagers?? It doesn't say anything about breadwinners, but if you research welfare programs at least 1/3 of recipients are the so called "working poor". It says 65% work part-time, that's true, and one reason is many companies want to avoid paying benefits by having their employees work just under full-time. That's why you see single mothers working 2 or 3 crap wage jobs. As for your claim that very few people here in KC will be positively impacted by a $15 wage -- really?!? Can you just hop on a bus at 6am and talk to a few people? I have lived here all my life and I know a TON of people who make under $15 per hour. And as for encouraging people to complete their education...don't you think making a non-starvation wage would help them to do that? And KC did not even pass the $15 wage, only $13 per hour and that not until 2020. Do you seriously think making $13 per hour in this city is luxurious? You can't even rent a decent apartment for under $600 a month. After taxes are taken out, that doesn't leave you with very much!

Re: “Kansas City, Missouri, City Council passes convention hotel deal

The fix appears to be in. The rubber stamp is getting a work out on this one. The city is getting sales projections from Cordish Company.

Re: “Redneck guy, pretend cable man coming to Kansas City

9:43 that is not a persuasive argument, can you imagine the title of an article about a Lil Wayne concert? This isn't Hudnall's first foray into prejudicial waters.

Remember when this guy owned The Point? Instead of paying his employees he just burned it down never to return.

Re: “Sky is the limit for soda machine

These machines are awesome! Older folks and non English speakers sometimes need help with selections. Unfortunately when a cartridge runs out several drinks become unavailable. At Burger King in Klamath Falls there is a machine in the public area and one near the drive through window. When the public machine runs out of your selection you only need to ask servers to dispense from the drive though machine. It actually seems to run out of ice more often than selections. Ice is loaded manually. Still, lots of low calorie choices and absolute freshness = sheer delight!

Re: “Redneck guy, pretend cable man coming to Kansas City

If the guy's entire routine is "You might be a redneck if..." it's hardly prejudicial to use that term.

2:39 So Hudnall can display his prejudices and racism. Because terms like "r*****k" aren't prejudicial at all.

Re: “Greg Carroll steps down as CEO of American Jazz Museum

If he has done such a great job, why did the city force him out? He isn't leaving to take another job it is still not an accredited museum. What did he do besides consume tax payer funds...without the city it would be closed in a year.

The Campground KC Kickstarter Spritzer:
2 oz of Beggar tears
2 oz of mummy & daddy's money
8 oz of donated fools gold
Splash of faked shame
All served over reclaimed wood in a high ball glass garnished with a slice of idiocy

Re: “Star columnist C.W. Guswelle has mind blown by Google Maps, mails in another column

Did Gusewelle appear in a "cameo" role in the t.v. show MASH back in the 70's? It was about a jounalist visiting the wounded troops and then he was going to promote donating blood to support the troops in the war. He was riding a motorcyle that one of the patients gave to B.J. Honeycutt and he crashed it. I'm wandering if that was him.
