Re: “The Wolf Creek nuclear plant might melt down - in court

You know, France is like 80% powered by nuclear energy. So.. You greenies.. Nuke plants are probably the way to go. But clean coal (I hear the fools who say there is no clean coal), is the ACTUAL way to go. Cheaper fuel, safer, and less costly to build. But King omnipotent ruler Obama has killed all research into clean coal. Seriously, he has killed it. At present the US is 40% coal powered. So.. all the people that are part of the supply structure both in the coal itself, and in parts for these plants, maintenance, and operation... ALL ARE BEING F-ED OVER ... by the Obama administration. How many people is that? ... When your stated goal is to kill coal which in 2008 was 50% of ALL electricity in the US, ... How many jobs did Obama INTENTIONALLY kill? ... Seriously. Someone do the math on it.

And .. So you know, the Obama administration HAS FUNDED coal electric generation facilities IN OTHER COUNTRIES!!! to the tune of $800 million ... (google: Eskom Kusile, US Export Import Bank)

So.. cheap energy in other countries and expensive "green" energy in the US = manufacturing jobs going to other countries.

Wake up. Obama himself is shipping our jobs overseas in jacked up policy and regulation.

Just solely based on reading this article I would say Mark is the man for the job.

Re: “KCK mayoral candidates Ann Murguia and Mark Holland explain themselves

well she's a "typical" politician.....takes credit for what she hasn't done and tells everyone that's what makes her "qualified". Sounds like our POTUS!

Re: “KCK mayoral candidates Ann Murguia and Mark Holland explain themselves

When Ann says she was "intimately involved" in those building projects, she might as well said, "they would've happened without me." I was working for the KCK Public Library when they started discussing the building of a new library in Argentine... I don't remember Ann having anything to do with this decision. It seems to me she is taking undo credit for the construction of a project in which she was a mere "volunteer." As far as the grocery store goes, I doubt corporate over at Save-A-Lot is swayed into developing locations by a county commissioner. Of course, Ann doesn't seem to understand that it takes a community...

Re: “Why is a new, no-kill animal shelter still sitting empty in Independence?

It still remains unopened but it is opening in the forth coming month and they're holding a meeting for volunteers on the 28th. (This Thursday) I would go personally but I'll be out of town working during that. I do plan on helping out in many ways.

It is quite stupid that it has taken this long to open this shelter when the other one wreaks and is also too small for how many careless owners just dump their pets. Also it is very sad some of the other reasons it hasn't opened were lawsuits filed against it because of the cost but prisoners incarcerated cost up to 50k a year, does that sound right? That's more than you, them and I make in a year.

I understand that we could use the money on so called "better" investments but do we truely want to leave the animals we've domesticated throughout the years to live in our homes to be put down or left hungry in the streets because they were "annoying"?

Re: “Barbershop 67 built a community. Diamond Cuts is taking it back

Craig was and still is a stand up guy. What he built and how he rolls is how I will
always remember what that barber shop 67 was like. I believed in what he had before
when it was just "his dream", told him he should do it, and watched him pull it together.
My money was on Craig and I think he should jump back in and do it again.
What happened wasn't his fault, sad end to something good. Could happen anywhere.

I guess the author of this article can't answer why there shouldn't be a White History month so he resorts to name calling.

i see the pitch is censoring comments again.....funny how the left only wants free speech for thier point of view.....why are they offended by the movie barbershop? a character in the movie said F*** Jesse Jackson, but the Pitch can't bring itself to have that on it's site. How about we just talk about Jesse's illegitimate kids?

Re: “FC Kansas City cements the metro's reputation as a soccer haven

Two comments from people in Kansas City that don't have a clue how popular soccer is here. It should not be hard to know that Sporting Kansas City's coach name is Peter Vermes and their best players are CJ Sapong, Graham Zusi, Kei Kamara and Matt Besler. Going up to a non-fan asking them something about soccer would never work out. Also, Sporting Kansas City are always soled out with over 19,000 fans coming in during regular season and over 20,000 fans during playoffs. That statement about soccer only being for 10,000 in Kansas City are false. If you don't know a dam* thing about what's going on in soccer, than shut it. Also.... I'm Black.

The article's author sounds like the main hater in this discussion. Regardless, many European Americans are waking up to the double-standard in racism. Go Mr. Stephens!

Re: “Park Hill's school-board race has a great white dope: race baiter Edward Stephens

Mr. Stephens should run! Why not? European Americans have different issues and concerns about educating their children. So what? What is so wrong about that?

Nothing! That's why I recommend all European American parents to vote for a candidate who shares your concerns. Thank you!

Better Ikea than nothing. Just what the world needs, more low end sales jobs. Again...better than an empty parcel. I bought Ikea furniture in Tempe, AZ for my college kid four years ago. All the furniture is long, long gone and didn't last. But...

Re: “FC Kansas City cements the metro's reputation as a soccer haven

Who's the soccer coach for Sporting? I'd ask 100 random on the street and all 100 would not know. Guaranteed. I could ask 1000 people and 997 would not know. Soccer is for about 10,000 people in this city of 1.5 million, that's about all it will ever attract.
