@Jay "frequenting Russian mail-a-bride websites" that is such a misleading statement that I had to say something. First of all, you used the plural websiteS so as to imply more than one. Second, you say frequenting, implying a person goes there constantly. In looking at the profile in question, I see that it is only 48% complete with no photo even added. That doesn't show a lot of interest to me. If it were being "frequented" surely it would have a photo and be complete. To me, it looks more like a profile someone started making then lost interest. Just saying.
Racist, not-racist, whatever: he doesn't need to be put in a school board and make decisions that affect thousands of children. I need someone who seems a bit more stable - and not frequenting Russian mail-a-bride websites, and not taking pictures with cut-out Hitlers and posting them on his Facebook - to be able to reflect over serious matters that may affect my child.
@Refractional It is twisted logic. "I'm going to vote for him BECAUSE he is (insert color), You say is not racist. "I'm not going to vote for him because he is(insert color) You say IS racist.
Either way the person voting is doing it because of color. Thereby, in YOUR way of thinking, they are a racist. Any decisions made based on color makes you a racist. Right? You must think that. You apply it to how one votes and again in this statement, "anybody ********(slanderous statement left out) who (wants to) make public policy decisions based on race is a racist." You want to twist it so that Mr. Hale's statement, "When most blacks were asked, why they voted for Obama. The answer was "because he is black", is negated.
It was racist for them to vote for him because he was black. I know it, they know it. About the only people who won't admit it are self hating whites.
Public money is spent on things all the time because of race. This is silly and not even worth debating. It is a fact. You obviously just do not want it spent on white people. If not, then where is the outcry to stop all other public money that is being spent based on race? If we can spend on all races except white, then that is racist. Why can't white parents pursue the best for their children? Do they have to sit on the back of the bus and hope their children are educated properly? Well, they have been doing that for years and look where it has gotten them. Schools that have to have police walking around inside them, metal detectors kids have to walk through, teachers who fear for their lives in the classroom and a system that is turning out undereducated, unprepared young adults.

I honestly think that this article shows just how terrified people are that he is actually going to win one of those two seats. The dumbification of American schools because of integration won't hit park hill if Stephens has anything to say about it. @ Reality - I tried to keep it as simple as possible. It is short, simple sentences, not convoluted at all.
As a white person, I personally feel demeaned when other white people stereotype whites as rich and all the others as poor and use that as justification for cost savings. Basically this guy wants to keep blacks out of the schools saying it will be cheaper. Is that really what you want in your leaders?

I have also heard him speak. I never got the impression, that he was racist. He seems the sort, that believes in elevating people through education, not through artificial means.

I have heard this person speak. I would be more inclined to call him a bigot rather than a racist. We like to pull the racial epithets out, but he really is against so many more factions of society - the homeless, foster children, special needs children, the poor in general - anyone he feels who are a drain on our society. Not that being called a bigot is better than being called a racist, it is simply more factual. It doesn't make it better, just more accurate.

Since you seem unable to grasp the concept of a museum, I will give the definition. Museum: "an institution devoted to the procurement, care, study, and display of objects of lasting interest or value." A picture taken in a musem that is all it is. You WANT it to be more, but that is what it is. There are pictures of him standing in front of guns, and uniforms and various other WWI memorabilia also. What dimension are you living in? Public policy is made based on race ALL the time. School districts based on race. @Refractional Actually I can. He is at a musem. He has quite a few other pictures from there. This one is no different then the rest. I guess people are supposed to avoid that one like the plague because somewhere, someday, somebody might not like it. Rubbish and nonsense. The musem and everything in it is for people to look at. If it was sooooooooooo horrible then I am sure that the curators of the musem would have posted: Please, no picture taken with this item as somewhere in the world an overly sensitive mindless robot will be offended.

You have a young man who wants to give back to his school district. If he wins and does good things he will be re-elected. If he wins and people do not like him he will not be re-elected. It's a pretty simple system we have.
