Re: “Streetside: Suiting up for an evening at Garment House, a new private club

This place looks very cool, and 40 dollars is not much if you think about a nice drinking night where you put down 6-7 high end cocktails.

I like that it's not for the P&L crowd as well, this is the bar KC deserves.

Re: “What KC can learn from Louisville's successful Forecastle Festival

Just bring Andrew Bird back okay, that is all. Thank you for my time. He would probably do best on the lawn of the Nelson.. Sigur ros would be good there too. Oh and loose park, butch cassidy and the sundance kid could shoot guns from behind fake rocks. Nicki Minaj might be ontop of the cheesecake factory and I do suppose that Jeff Tweedy could do a VIP acoustic solo performance in the Union basement. Just give Neko Case some of those cones you direct traffic with. Modest Mouse, Minus the Bear and My morning jacket can all play in the rather large (M) tent. .. oh and i forgot.. did you say there was going to be like ... what is it horses drink out of.. vats of summer brew that you can just go scoop beverage out of if you are thirsty. Hmm.. but how do you safely get from destination to destination. Roller blades, rip sticks, and unicycles. Thend. THank you for my time again.

Re: “Tying one on at the 2012 Pitch Music Awards

This article perfectly reflects why really talented acts in KC don't get traction. This "journalist" missed an opportunity to write a relevant article about an event that would be important to local bands if it were treated with any respect. I'm not a troll, but you are a douche bag of a reporter! I dropped in to see how the bands did and was quickly reminded of how liquor soaked, self important shit heads undermine artists hard work. The pitch should be embarrassed.

Re: “Tying one on at the 2012 Pitch Music Awards

I thought the awards show was a great time.. folks got loaded and had a hoot. At least where I was sitting. I was a little disappointed in the lack of detail in the article.

Dang Hudnall!

You should undergo a wee bit of paradigm training so you can learn how to handle the trolls in a professional manner.

BUT.....I did expect a "sent from my blackberry" icon at the end of this article.

Re: “Tying one on at the 2012 Pitch Music Awards

So is the going to be the Pitch's coverage of the awards show? I guess it's no wonder why half the winners didn't show up to accept their awards. With "journalism" like this why would people give a shit about local music? While the tone of the article might not reflect all the staff at the Pitch, this is still what is essentially the face of it. Reading this you would think that meh, the awards are just a chance to jack around on the company dime then write a half-ass review of what happened. It just comes across like the awards for Pitch are an after-thought and you couldn't care less.

Ok, so it's supposed to be a "boozy, nightlife piece" fine, but you don't have to come across like a self-absorbed, overly important ass hat.

Another thing, the $12 beers is beyond absurd. Really, really disappointed in you Pitch. It really seems like you mailed it in on this one.

Re: “Tying one on at the 2012 Pitch Music Awards

I care about the local music scene and read The Pitch to help keep up with it, so it's frustrating that this article about an awards show just reads like someone trying to convince their friends how cool they are. Seems like a missed opportunity for a more interesting article.

Re: “Tying one on at the 2012 Pitch Music Awards

The trolls are back! OK then.

@Kc musician: This piece is from my nightlife column in the print issue. The reason it took two days for your angry, beady little eyes to read it is that the column doesn't go live online until the day we ship the week's issue. Also, you seem like a gross, sad troll!

@Rob Rasher: This is a nightlife column. Part of the point is for it to be boozy.

@the show was...: Sorry you wasted three minutes of what I can only assume is a very rich, fulfilling life. Also, no, I did not forget what I was covering. You know how you can tell? Because of the title of the story, and because of how everything in it relates to things that happened at this year's Pitch Music Awards.

@Burt Turner: Good job of not participating!

Dead girls played to 15 people at Coda counting the two bartenders the Sat before this event.

Re: “Tying one on at the 2012 Pitch Music Awards

New rule. If your band won an award in your category last year, you can't be nominated again for three years. That would show us what kind of scene we have.

Re: “Tying one on at the 2012 Pitch Music Awards

See! Look at how important and special this event is! And how much it helps the local musicians! I'm so happy to know the same band lost the same category for five years. What were we going for again?

Maybe you guys can trot out the same shit next year, jerk each other off and I won't participate then either.

Good coverage, especially about you and Don Draper. Maybe you forgot what you were covering? Here's your award; best waste of 3 minutes writing a story.

Maybe you should send a non-alcoholic reporter to cover your biggest music event of the year?

Re: “What KC can learn from Louisville's successful Forecastle Festival

If they'd add a big name band or two to the plaza arts festival it'd be blow up and turning an even larger boon for the economy.
