This was hilarious. Thanks!
Journalists should have no friends. They say that's the key to a free press. Keep telling like it is Dave!
Kutty is a talented artist by all means, and leonard is no slouch for sure. D's work with Ces Cru on the Playground was phenomenal, and despite only a few discs to his name, slitz has one of those memorable voices, and his verb and word placement always mesh well. Definitely one in my top 10 for the city this year.
The keyboard player is so hot!
Never heard of em, but dig it!
Nice write Hudnall.
I am inspired to give them a listen.
See! Look what happens when a decent band releases an album in Kansas City.
Nothing.
"I've Gotta Get a Message to You" is Robin. House of Lords wasn't ever released, so it's hard to see it as a bid for America other than Bee Gees trying their hands in every old sub-genre of pop writing there was, during a period when Stigwood rode them like slaves to max his returns from a 5-year contract with these showbiz teen unknowns.
I heard these guys on "Homegrown Buzz" tonight and just HAD to go find them! These guys rock!
Great band, but I keep hearing Electric Needle Room is Kansas City's They Might Be Giants.
This album should be a cult classic. The brilliance of dark subject matter mashed up with soft sweet melodies makes the writing on this album the real deal. "Bird Flu" sounds like a love song, giving this eerie global threat a warm soft spot in your heart. Fresh originality would be the best way to describe this CD. A must have for anyone who appreciates authentic music.
Nice. Everyone should check this out. It's good!! BUT, it sounds NOTHING like Linkin Park. I don't know where that comparison comes from.
Haha...thanks for the review! Aside from the references to nu-metal and Linkin Park which both made me almost vomit... ;) I hate the genre and that band. I do appreciate you giving me the time of day though...
Nice work guys! I am very proud of you.

I have, and this song is a total ripoff of it.
Has this guy ever heard "Killer Queen?"
If you've never seen these guys live, you should. They are so entertaining, soulful, and have enough hotness to light a Swisher Sweet. "Whiskey, oh whiskey!"
Re: “What's good and what sucks among recent local releases”
At last a local music journalist who doesnt fawn all over local acts because he feels like he has to. There are local bands that actually suck live and put out shitty recordings.
