Re: “Streetside: Kanrocksas hits the self-destruct button

This is stupid but interesting. Just because 2011 fell well short of anticipated sales, it was a fun and good festival, it did come out of nowhere and could have been a building block to establish something. I thought the reasoning for no 2012 show was the construction at the Legends. They always said they'd be back for 2013 (article does not articulate this). So, they had to knock it out of the park in 2013 to establish credibility. They did not. It would have been nice for KC to have a yearly event like this.

Dancefestopia Music Festival... electronic like Kanrocksas, hip-hop like Kanrocksas, 40+ local artists unlike Kanrocksas, but no mention in the article? It's a Kansas City music festival. http://Dancefestopia.com for reference

Re: “Streetside: Horribly disgusting band Gwar debuts its barbecue sauce at Grinders

I resent the term "metal nerd". The proper term is "full metal fucking retard".

Horribly Disgusting Band? I think not, they are actually quite talented musicians whose act is a parody of heavy metal. Get with the program. If they make more $$$ selling BBQ sauce then good for them. America is a capitalist society and they are capitalizing. lol

Re: “Streetside: Horribly disgusting band Gwar debuts its barbecue sauce at Grinders

Kansas City is one of the greatest BBQ cities in the world, what better place to launch your BBQ sauce. GWAR is one of the most exciting acts in Rock & Roll history with a legacy of GBQ's that spans over 25 years (http://gwarbq.com). GWAR is not a sell out band with lunch boxes like KISS. What some people will do for Love.

It'll be okay man. We all gots to do something with our filthy, miserable, meaningless little existence. These are people they grew up with coming to their local pit and they love it, so do the fans. Gwar are regular jackoffs in costume and we all know it, so do they, just roll with it.

These guys are all (former) art students from Richmond (VCU sculpture dept). One of them used to be an exhibits production sherpa at the local science museum. Quiet little guy.

Yawn. What folks will do for $$.
