Re: “Top 10 Calamari

I'm Italian, born in a northern Italian city. Calamari, (and yes, it's squid, not octopus), is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I've noticed a trend in recent years. Often, calamari is mixed, (misto), with fried peppers, zucchini, and shrimp. When I order calamari, I want to get a place of the rings and leggy pieces, very lightly breaded or even just floured, and served with copious amounts of fresh lemon. That is the pure, Italian way!
Ricco's in Overland Park serves a very good calamari appetizer, much better than some of the top 10 mentioned above. However, even their dish is strips, not the rings, etc.

Re: “Edward Bagley's victim speaks at sentencing in sex slave case

What are you people talking about?! I know multiple people, both men and women, who love their genitals sown shot! I am serious, I do think it's freaky, but they do it, they like it, and done properly it causes no actual damage. You are all making a moral judgment on the act and based on your own perception of what is scary or disgusting to you, you are deciding whether it was abuse or not?! What makes this act abusive is whether she consented to it or not. There are plenty of people who live happily and consensually doing all the things that were done to her, in long term decades long relationships. She went to a photo shoot in CA - why didn't she report him, tell someone ,leave? It's bullshit.

Re: “KC firefighters union drops $200,000 in effort to renew fire department sales tax

Believe were all led to believe back about a year 1/2 ago, that the "City Earnings Tax", that Mayor Sly James and his Cronies pushed for and lied to everybody about, was supposed to cover City Emergency services, specifically Fire & Ambulance and add more dispatchers.
As I definetly recall from the news releases, that they encouraged voters to vote Yes on that amendment, and that the City's Earnings Tax would go towards Fire and Police & Ambulance !

Then right after it was passed, and approved, or Rigged, they laid off a bunch of Fire fighters and shut down a fire house, who remembers that ???

the Lies that come out of that Mayors office & City Hall are plenty, and those that believe those lies are plenty too, lotta Naïve Clueless people out there !

To bad you think that anyone who disagrees with you is a bigot. By the way, it never was an issue about letting gays in to a fish fry.
Perhaps you should try printing the TRUTH and not what you think.

Re: “Roeland Park City Council to vote on LGBT anti-discrimination bill this coming Monday

Council members are using every excuse to deny other human beings the same rights that they are fortunate to have themselves. Women who now sit on the council and in judgement would not even have the right to vote if it had not been for others fighting for their rights in the past. Was it that long ago that women could legally be terminated without cause or denied entry to many schools and professions? A black woman who speaks out against the ordance has the benefit of being protected by gender, race and color. I can only hope that the council will acknowledge that they are a part of the protected class and that they have no right to with hold that protection from anyone.

Re: “Paul McCartney put on an electrifying show last night at the Sprint Center

Truly one of the best shows I've ever seen. The fact that he bowed after each song just shows the class he brings to live music. He was gracious to a fault and at the top of his game all evening. This was a show that I will never forget.

Thank you for the great review and set list!

The EDM scene is going to burst worse than the housing market here in a couple years. Cash in now

Re: “A raft of Kansas Republicans announce their endorsement of Democrat Paul Davis for governor

I love these self-described "life-long Republicans" who immediately act like an MSNBC employee and then trash Republicans. No one is fooled. It's like hearing a guy on the radio saying "I've been a Democrat my whole life but Obama needs to go back to Kenya."

Just say your point. No need to lie about being a GOPer if your argument is good.

Re: “Bishop Finn sued again (updated)

I work for the Diocese. I do not feel good about it because I am just taking parishioners money for a salary but without maintenance the Cathedral would fall down. She had a basically "volunteer" type job. If she wins she knows where the money is coming from and who she is actually taking it from. The disenfranchised. On both sides. Lame. Get an actual job. And why would you want to work for a "company" that is against your beliefs in the first place. Maybe she knew what she was doing.

@Mary Praneo. The woman likes her job, thats why she wants it back, and is suing for wrongful termination. Try reading an article before you post, like a grown up.

Re: “Roeland Park City Council to vote on LGBT anti-discrimination bill this coming Monday

But, hey, let's just add another thing that the city can get sued over. It's just tax dollars. Eh.. who really pays for that anyway?(liberal mindset) Let me go down the list of people we can't fire because they fall under some sort of protective class: We can't fire African-Americans, Hispanics, women, new mothers, veterens, mentally disabled, physically disabled, blind, deaf, Muslim, Jew, etc.

I guess I'm Ok with this under city government operations. But when we start telling business owners that they can get sued under a CITY standard operating procedure, YOU'VE CROSSED A LINE!!!

So, as a white middle class single man with no kids, ... who can I sue to get my job and/or back pay? Come on liberals. All men are created equal, right?
Where is MY protected status? Who can I sue under anit-discrimination policy? The NCAA?!! NOW?!! How about the illegal immigrants? So... who can I sue today?
