Re: “Bradyn Fuksa flees a theft charge and disappears in Wyoming

I live in Casper, WY about 2 hrs outside of Cheyenne. I will definitely keep an eye out for this poor kid. I often see young homeless people on the side of road with signs for money and shelter and after seeing this case. I can't help but wonder if one of those young homeless people is Bradyn.

Re: “Looking for KC's coldest beer, one (sometimes) frosty mug at a time

I get that this is just supposed to be an advertisement for a bunch of random bars, but...come on.

Re: “There's way more to Manhattan than just K-State

Hibachi Hut is relocating to downtown under new ownership who bought the rights & recipes -- going strong!

Re: “Looking for KC's coldest beer, one (sometimes) frosty mug at a time

You definitely set yourself up for ridicule on this one. I'm not even a beer snob and I lol'd when I read your very first one was a Guinness. Only the American style lagers should be included in a "coldest beer" contest.

Oh, and not even a mention of Twin Peaks where they advertise at great length about the temperature of their beer being 29 degrees? They even have a lit sign behind the bar that always shows the actual current temperature of the draft beers.

Re: “There's way more to Manhattan than just K-State

Have you heard about Traqueros in Overland Park on 119th and Metcalf? Fast casual mexican restaurant based on the South of the Border menu from Coco Bolos and from the same owners.

Re: “There's way more to Manhattan than just K-State

Coco Bolos is indeed one of the best locally owned and operated restaurants in Manhattan. However, there are certainly others: 4 Olives, Little Apple Brewing Company, Harry's, The Veldt, and Della Voce.

Re: “The Tutera Group isn't getting much resistance to its plan to wall off a chunk of Prairie Village for the Medicare set

Now I see we're resorting to conspiracy theories if you dare to question the motives of the MVNA. What's funny is that is using democrats as a scare tactic to back up a bunch of people telling another property owner what they can or cannot do with their own property. That's an interesting cognitive disconnect right there. I have not doubt the MVNA is well prepared to poop all over any proposal that involves building more than 8-10 houses on the land to fit in with the density of the only partially surrounding neighborhood.

For the record I live in PV and have no financial interest beyond being a resident of PV in this project.

Re: “There's way more to Manhattan than just K-State

Awe, this is making me miss Manhattan (my home for around 17 years). I'm assuming the "lip shit" at Acme was actually Chicken Poop that is made in Wichita, KS. http://www.ilovechickenpoop.com/

Here's the backstory on the name: http://www.ilovechickenpoop.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=26&chapter=1

I agree wth Patrick, that Coco Bolos is also a favorite. Sad to hear another favorite, Hibachi Hut, is leaving Aggieville. Hopefully they can continue their long history downtown after the move.

Auntie Mae's has a "cavernous" basement and a "stage". This is news to me.

Re: “There's way more to Manhattan than just K-State

Don't know that "unprecedented" is the best way to describe K-State's 2012 football season either. I seem to recall a Bill Snyder-led Wildcat team coming within a double-overtime thriller of playing for a National Championship. Otherwise...great article on "The Little Apple".

Re: “Looking for KC's coldest beer, one (sometimes) frosty mug at a time

I find this one of the most confusing endeavors undertaken by The Pitch. James is right. Some beers are best not cold ... such as stouts.

You all would have been better off going to the bars and rating the restrooms. Actually, that could be pretty good. Calling it!

Re: “Looking for KC's coldest beer, one (sometimes) frosty mug at a time

I'm an avid Pitch supporter and reader but if you're not going to know anything about styles and correct serving temperatures you're going to sound like an idiot to people who actually drink beers other than light american lagers. There's a reason why "cold as ice" beers are served ice cold. It's so you can't taste them.

For your reference: http://www.ratebeer.com/Story.asp?StoryID=…

Come on Pitch - you're better than this. And if you really don't know details like this please let me know and I'd be happy to discuss over a not very cold beer!

No, coldest doesn't equal best. But a cold one does make a hot Kansas City summer day better.
