Re: “Joy Biggs watched her sister die in a jail cell over an ounce of pot

You know, I keep telling you guys that working in the "justice" system isn't the sort of job that attracts nice people. Starting to believe me yet?

Re: “Oklahoma Joe's drives into the food-truck business

MAG trucks is THE worst company I have ever worked with. These guys are obviously amatuers, with absolutely no attention to detail. They did sloppy work on our truck. The ego of Brad Carlson is epic. They screwed everything up, from beginning to end. And to boot, they were completely unprofessional to work with. Had to hire an attorney to get title for truck they sold us. Buyer beware here. There are other food truck builders in the area that actually know what they are doing, we know because they had to clean up MAG trucks work. Don't waste your money and save yourself the absolute headache of working with these jerks!!!!

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

Quick note, for every article that says they weren't involved there are many articles that point to the fact that they were:

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

Groups like these slip so easily into the victim role, as you just did. They aren't being bullied. This is a direct response to THEIR actions. The power to change minds is in their hands, through their actions. They've chosen to commit the kind of atrocities that they have committed. And yes, I've done my research. They are linked to the bill through their work, missionaries, and connections.

They are not the victim. They are not being bullied. They are the perpetrators and the group guilty of terrorizing groups of people. You cannot terrorize people and then turn around and play the victim card. This isn't "religious freedom," it's terrorism. Plain and simple. Period.

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

Just to make sure I understand you, Omom, It's fine to hate these kind of Christians and write stuff like this to bully them in to moving, because they started the hate? And because someone who went to their church got their statements about a Uganda bill circulated around, they are terrorists who should be shamed out of town?

It would be easier to believe these Christians are lying when they defend themselves against these anti-gay accusations. But considering their statements would be the kind of research that would require the ever-elusive posture of objectivity.

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

I think it's funny that we are preaching against hate and division, when this is exactly the practices that this church engages in. They are linked to the death to gays bill in Uganda. If they want to change their image and change the fact that people have a problem living next to an organization that terrorizes gay people, then they can speak through their actions and not their words.

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

After your article came under fire for being Wild Speculation about the property becoming a dorm, you revised it to the above be a piece of Anti-bigoted bigotry. This is the worse kind of bigotry, it is reverse bigotry.

This feels like "We don't like you religious folk moving into to our neighborhood, we are going to shame yall out with our publication." All of that church's services are on their website and conversion therapy for gays isn't listed there and an email to their staff reveals it isn't something they practice, so it seems to be yet another fabrication to keep this city full of hate and division. Why not be the change you want to see instead of trying fight prejudice with prejudice.

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

I would like to order a stack of pancakes with extra syrup and 2 strips of bacon, coffee and a lot BS from IHOP. I want to hear what torture they have in store for the gay community. There is nothing like to Dark Ages.

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

What an odd ending to an otherwise interesting article. No wrap-up, no indication of where the story is headed, no resident perspective. Just a short vignette of another house that youssef has designs for.

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

Colors of the rainbow? How interesting you brought that up considering IHOP was actively involved in the death to gays bill in Uganda. It's also interesting that they are involved in harmful conversion therapy. This group terrorizes gay people. Make no mistake, they are not the victims. They are the perpetrators of hate and intolerance.....so excuse me if I'm not willing to roll out the welcome mat. This just illustrates just a small part of their shady business practices. Don't preach tolerance when their idea of tolerance is conversion to their point of view.

Re: “Does the International House of Prayer have designs on Hyde Park?

Thanks for keeping this alive! There is little doubt to the intentions of this group no matter how much they downplay it and swamp this post with fabricated praise for the IHOP group.

Re: “A crumbling fortress on Vine might be ground zero for a renewed Jazz District

We need your help to make our event this weekend a success.
https://www.facebook.com/events/2795464122…
There is still a chance to make a difference and get involved. It's going to be an awesome day full of wonderful food, a variety of vendors, several live bands, live Jazz dancing and fire performances and family friendly activities, but the reason for it all is so we can raise awareness and funds for the restoration of The Workhouse - Kansas City Historic Castle so that it can be used to give back to the Kansas City Community. Any donation amount is appreciated and will go towards this event and the restoration. Please donate here: http://www.gofundme.com/workhousecastle

Sponsorship is also available for your business. We are getting a lot of media attention and 2 Or More is a nonprofit (contributions over $500 are tax deductible through our fiscal sponsor The Mutual Musician's foundation) and would be happy to help you get some attention as well. This is a completely grassroots effort. We have nothing to do with the city or government.

$50 for an 8x10 sign with your business logo and information displayed this Saturday.

$100 for a Full Sized Banner to be displayed on Saturday featuring your business information.

$500 gets flyer and Facebook advertising for all events for the next 6 months in addition to the banner at the event and free admission to our events through the New Year.

If making your donation through our Go Fund Me for sponsorship, please indicate which sponsorship level you want and include contact information so we can get graphics and copy from you.

Thank you so much! Together, we will make this happen!

Re: “A crumbling fortress on Vine might be ground zero for a renewed Jazz District

Why does KC try to revive Jazz every 10 yrs? With all the money they waste on it inner city kids could be taught something useful-like reading. Not many people even like Jazz.

I hope this fails so I can buy this place and make it my house. I've always wanted a castle.

Re: “Crashing IHOP's annual Onething

very sad to see people labeling this church a cult. why do people think that large churches are cults? I have been to the OneThing conference before; it is open to the public, free, and nothing but 4 days and nights of worship, prayer, and good teaching that is Scriptural. Naturally, if you don't believe in God or the Bible, you will be anti IHOP. But that hardly makes you an expert or credible; Just someone who doesn't like something they don't believe in or disagree with.
