Hi @brenton - The feature ends with Matt's quote. The "More Interview" link just takes you to more feature stories.

I'm having trouble reading the rest of the interview after the first page. Is the "More INterview" link broken?

Re: “Female DJs in Kansas City: A thriving new species

Part 2 After I got out of the nightclub DJing scene I met a radio personality/broadcaster(they don't like being called radio DJ's)...Lol We were together 16 years, he recognized my talent & bought me my own mobile sound equipment & I did wedding receptions, which paid much better than clubs did & I did weddings until the mid 90's & it wasn't as easy then like it is now as far as the equipment & everything was heavy, the amp weighed a ton.. I had turntables(if the people requested them), CD player, cassette player, heavy speakers, not to mention lugging albums, cds, cassettes everywhere... there was no lap top to carry under your arm...it's so much lighter & easier for people doing parties today...so for you young ladies doing the nightclubs when it's time for you to move on, you should do wedding receptions... I loved doing both...I learned the club thing on my own but I had a great mentor who taught me the correct way to do Weddings & it worked great every time!!! Good Luck...

Re: “Female DJs in Kansas City: A thriving new species

I'm a female & I was a club DJ in the 70's & 80's there were 2 popular after hours clubs on the KS side, Chapmans in Lenexa & AppleJacks on Merriam Dr in Merriam... I was the house DJ at Apple Jacks aka AJ's for 10 years!!! Back then MO bars weren't open late & people came from all over the metro area to AJ's I was playing the best artist/music of that time ...Michael Jackson, Prince, Kool & the Gang, the Gap band, Whitney, George Clinton lots of funk, R&B soul... what ever you want to call it... if it was funky, I played it all..Apple Jacks was the place to party & I was a big part of that scene .unfortunately I was way ahead of my time because today there's a handful making 6 figures today... so ladies your not a "new species" but keep up the work...radio personalities & many other nightclub jocks back then came to see & hear me & it was the best time of my life: to get paid for having a great time & doing what I loved most, playing great music, packing the dance floor & making people happy!!!

Glad to see him back in KC. He exposed me to a lot of massively trippy sounds in the 90s.

Re: “Black on Black, Firebrand (review)

This horrible band is illegal using the Federal Trademark "BLACK ON BLACK" owned by DARGI and the Legendary BLACK ON BLACK Music Coalition from Minneapolis who have been playing on everybody's Albums and Film and Television soundtracks since 1975.

You would think somebody in this band or their management would have thought to do a Trademark Search first before releasing a product illegally under a name someone else has owned and used exclusively for 40 years. I hope these fools have a lot of money because their ignorance is going to cost them a big lawsuit.
