Re: “BEST CHEESECAKE

Accurso's - So sorry that good publicity like this has turned into a fight because someone got mad that they weren't picked. Chef Terry, seems like you should be taking your complaints to The Pitch.

Re: “BEST CHEESECAKE

@Kelly it is obvious that you don't have a clue about Cowtown Cheesecake. We have been KC's #1 cheesecake for years! * different restaurants carry our cheesecake on their menus! That was years ago that I cooked for Garth..it is called a chef bio you idiot! My cheesecake has been served to the First Lady...We sell more cheesecake in one month than Accursos does in a year!..ps who are you?! Thanks for checking out my profile, must of peaked your curiousity enough! This all can be resolved with a cheesecake throwdown! and please get your facts straight!

Re: “BEST CHEESECAKE

I must say I do love tasting competitions! So far cowtown has been my favorite, but I have never tried Accurso's - what a great excuse for cheesecake this weekend!! As for some of the other comments - wow, mean people really do suck! Also, not to make this about linked in profiles, but aren't all linked in profiles self indulged? Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought the point of the whole "resume" thing was to list past accomplishments in work...

Re: “BEST CHEESECAKE

Chef Mille your lack of class somehow managed to overshadow your present lack of presence in the great cheesecake war of Kansas City. Clap. Clap. Clappity clap. Words of wisdom: Garth Brooks is retired and you should follow suit. Renovate your self indulged, exaggerated linked in profile. No one gives a shit that you spoon fed a washed up country music artist. One last thing, did you know that Accurso's has the best cheesecake?

Re: “BEST CHEESECAKE

Lisa we don't buy a single product from Sysco, not a one. The only thing we don't make we don't make in house our the rice balls (which we get from from a local company) and our sausage (scimecas because it's the best)

Patrick Moylan GM Accurso's Italian Reataurant
If you have any questions please call me 816 753 0810 I'll explained our entire buying process to you

Re: “BEST SECONDHAND CLOTHING

I agree!! Without a doubt...absolutely "The BEST" boutique in Kansas City ! I don't even think of it as a resale-shop.....the clothing & locally-made one-of-a-kind jewelry items are not only beautiful....but the clothing is ALWAYS steamed & CLEAN.....& everything is top-quality! AND.....they offer free gift wrapping!! YES.....I SAID FREE!!
The owner, Danielle, is not only a "Beauty" herself....but her expert fashion-sence is "spot-on"! I never know what looks good on me.....she puts me in clothes that I always get great comments on, but would never have picked out for myself!! Definitely worth checking out....if you haven't discovered this fantastic boutique yet!!
P. S. The SHOES & BAGS are equally awesome B-)

Re: “Best Local Actor

Simply being from Kansas City doesn't count as 'local'.

Re: “BEST LOCAL ALTERNATIVE TO NETFLIX

We here at Video Mania would just like to thank you for your recognition of our store! Video stores are a dying breed and we are proud that we have weathered the storm and are still able to serve our community even in the days of Hulu and Netflix. As you pointed out this is due mostly to our wide selection of independent/cult, classics, criterion and LGBT selections. So thank you! We look forward to next year’s issue!

Re: “BEST ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE

What a treat to open the "Best of" issue and see Jessica Brandl as Best Artist in Residence. There have been many good ones in Kansas City over the last year, whether visiting local museums or studio sites like Charlotte Street and Studios, Inc. Two other Red Star residents, Jo Kamm and Keira Norton, currently have work on display in the new Belger Crane Yard gallery at 2011 Tracy Avenue. Both exhibits are top notch. The Artists in Residence program is a real plus for Red Star and we love keeping so much talent in Kansas City! Thanks again for the recognition,
Mo Dickens

Re: “Best Art Gallery

yes, get your distinctions right, please. Museums show but do not sell. Galleries show and sell and keep the local scene happening.

Re: “BEST PAIN-IN-THE-ASS RESTAURANT

I love his food and have always been treated with gracious hospitality but I do have to agree that the décor is just off and in fact whenever Peanches is a topic of discussion amongst friends, after the food is discussed, the topic of atmosphere inevitably comes around too. The décor is much better with the addition of the door/divider but the gray walls are just dreary and the space needs help in giving the illusion of the ceiling being lower and being more cozy. Right now it's too austere.
