Re: “Why doesn't the Mexican translate all his Spanish words?

not sure what do Ddobbsa_plenty refers to illegals getting "freebies". You are the classical example of an ingonarant American who does not have the slighest idea of what an "ilegal" goes trough in this country, just to survive. And by the way, they do pay taxes, for very hard jobs that not whites, blacks or any other people feel like doing...

Re: “Why doesn't the Mexican translate all his Spanish words?

It is so sad to see some one like you, using this platform, to give such a bad name to Mexicans. You should not even use that Mexican to portray yourself. You are a "pocho", that's right, look it up, buscalo buey. Primero learn to speak Spanish correctly, and learn the culture correctly, and then go give a good image of the Mexican culture & heritage, instead of posting your stupidities.

Alba, yes, and I am very proud of being a Mexican, in the correct extent of the world.

Re: “Why doesn't the Mexican translate all his Spanish words?

English first, Spanish - if used in an American Paper or Article, should, out of respect for this Country, should be minimal and always translated, it is the right thing to do.

Re: “Why doesn't the Mexican translate all his Spanish words?

Americans, who are either born here LEGALLY or who are Legal Citizens. Illegals have the right/option to become Legals, but if they do that - then they have to go be our Laws and Rules. And they do not get nearly as many 'freebies' off the Legal Citizens. Americans will indeed do the Jobs that the Illegals - of more than just Mexico. Our Country had a system set up - then you all start taking short cuts and come in an literally under cut the rightful workers.

Re: “Why doesn't the Mexican translate all his Spanish words?

I am good with anyone, regardless of Race, as long as they are here Legally. To continue to foster and pay for Illegals is ignorance on the part of the True and Legitimate -Legal Citizens of this Country.

Re: “Why doesn't the Mexican translate all his Spanish words?

Lazy jobs? You mean being the local drug dealer or rapist? Cause whenever I watch the news its about some illegal raping and killing children or running a drug lab in apartment building filled with people.

I think its funny as hell all these dumb mexicans say mexico is the best country in the world. Why your here in America and not in your third world country that's governed by the drug cartels?

Re: “Why doesn't the Mexican translate all his Spanish words?

The primary reason why no one respects latino's anymore cause they come here illegally and break our laws. Mexicans are too lazy to apply for a green card or a visa at the border and not break any US laws.

If the Mexicans don't like how people talk about them----they can pick up their shirt with the wet back and stop taking an American job

Re: “In Kansas City, Kansas, the school district is on a building binge – and one private developer is reaping the benefits

This article is mostly bull crap; which is people should expect from the Bitch Weekly. I call it that because that's all they do in their "articles" is bitch.

Expanding the current historic Argentine Library isn't feasible; anyone can see that. There is barely room to park now. Where would people park if it was expanded? Plus an addition on to a historic building typically only ruins the character of it.

It won't be demolished, it's listed in the historic building registries, so that would be very difficult. Let it become a museum or condos or some such thing, but give the citizens of South KC, KS the modern library facility they sorely need and deserve.

Having said that I will accept nothing less in quality and size than what they have at the West Wyandotte brach, built in 1986, it's KC, KS newest library facility and one that has won awards in architecture and library design.

The only point in the article I do agree with is that the KC, KS school district running the KC, KS public library is indeed foolish, considering that KC, KS city limits is served by 3 other school districts. How will Piper ever get a library facility when it reaches that stage in population?

It's time to separate the KC, KS Public Library from KC, KS USD 500 and make it at true city library serving all areas of Kansas City, KS and governed by an it's own elected board or made a department of the Unified Government and governed by the UG's elected board of commissioners.

Re: “Roadside memorials and Moorish pasts

So are these "memorials" actually put where the loved one's were killed/died or are they just placed by the side of the road and in the medians as a rememberance?

Re: “Culture isn't the culprit

It would be nice if these columns were written in English. After all, we aren't all illegal latino immigrants.

Re: “Culture isn't the culprit

It is true that Latina females, when compared to other female groups, have the highest drop-out rate in the USA and are the least likely of all to be found on college campuses. Find out for yourself and check the studies and growing statistics on this particular issue. It is sad but true.

Re: “The Mexican translates for you

Do you really not get the point, amigos? I've been reading Gustavo Arellano's shtick since the days when "Ask a Mexican" was a feature that launched in my beloved OC Weekly, back when I, too, was a proud, too-much-rent-paying Southern Californian. The point is that the column is a satire of the typical Anglo attitudes toward Hispanics in general—that they're all "Mexicans," they all want to sponge off the system, they're only good for picking crops, they all live nineteen to a room—what have you. Like any good satire, sometimes it's offensive. But if you see the purpose underneath, it's smart and great. Viva la Mexican, 'Tavo!

Re: “Here’s why Mexican men are so sexy, and what not to say when you wake up wanting to … you know

Girl!!!! Leave the damn man alone and go look for a better one, it sounds like he wants to use you. find someone else who would love to consider you as a friend and also his lover, don't stick around no man who would live with you for two years, dates you and have other women on the side and no wine dine you. How dare he dates you, live with you for two danky years and don't don't see your good worth, leave the blasted joker alone. I now see your message from 9 nine months ago, is January 2011 now. Re: “City Council members want to take on the Port Authority debacle. But their fetish for foiling the mayor made them late to the fight

The EDC is the umbrella corporation that is over the Port Authority, The TIF Commission, and other "alpabet" sub agencies all which "operate under the EDC’s management and facilities" as so described in the EDC's website: http://edckc.com/agencies-part.... The Richards Gebaur project was under the perview of the Port Authority. The H&R Block project was a TIF project. For the investigators to confine an investigation of suspected malfeasance in the Port Authority and TIF commision or the LCRA, etc., would not be complete unless they also included looking into the potential complicity of the EDC. Plus, if you read the list of the EDC Board of Directors and the Port Authority Board of Advisors, you will note many, if not all of the existing City Council are involved. Makes one wonder if they too had a role to play. Do you see the connection? Roger, I'll forgive your condescending accussation that I have a hidden agenda in my statements because it appears that you haven't delved that deep into these agencies. The fact that the public needs to really dig super deep and super continuously in order to find the truth is what empowers those that want to enrich themselves at the public's expense. The level of their greed exceeds the amount of inquisitiveness of the public. It's that "Hiding in plain sight" phenomenon.
