Re: “KC's Pride Fest isn't such a gay time for some

But, if people knew the truth about Pride Organizers they would boycott the event and run them all out of town. I could tell you things about these assholes that would blow your minds. From criminal records (look it up) to embezzlement to fraud.

Re: “Slap's BBQ in Kansas City, Kansas, opened today

Best BBQ in this city. Fries will have BBQ seasoning on them starting next week. Warm potato salad was wonderful. Didn't get to try the ribs as they were "gone girl" by the time we walked in at 11:45, but will be back next weekend to place a carryout order in advance. Not a shred of fat on the brisket or pulled pork and perfectly juicy without being soggy. Die hard OKJs fan for pulled pork but Slaps has me hooked now. Worth the drive, the wait, and the $$. Definitely a must-have. Don't let the BBQ sauce intimidate you. It's delightfully different and pairs perfectly with the rub used on the meat! Love this place

Re: “At Zoo Bar, a different kind of Royals watch party

@David Hudnall--Oh...you didn't mention this was an "exercise"!!! Sorry, dude. Maybe for the World Series you can grace some homeless shelters with your presence! Keep up the good work.

Re: “WWE superstar Kane talks about his '97 Raw debut in KC, See No Evil 2, Undertaker, Paul Bearer and more

Great little interview. Pleased he kept to the topics at hand, and not his politics. A good hand, and very good at portraying his character over the years.

Re: “Kansas City Chiefs, Hunt family establish a trust for Zoey Belcher

so sad, the pic of the baby looking up at him, she is the spitting image of her dad, things we say in anger are so destructive. anybody looking at her can see she is his child, hands down. so sad, to lose their love their lives and leave her an orphan over an argument and cruel words.

Re: “Our five favorite pork tenderloin sandwiches in Kansas City

Best Pork Tenderloin Sandwich as of 2014? Hobo's Bar & Grill near the River Key. It's hidden away near Front Street just off Gardner. Absolutely killer sandwich.

Re: “Is the city done trying to oust a Section 8 housing developer from Armour Boulevard?

Let me get this straight....this developer took FEDERAL FUNDS to renovate these buildings, and continues to take public funds to subsidize residents' housing costs...all the while forcing residents to live in a crime ridden apartment building? How is this ANYBODY'S fault in Hyde Park or their neighborhood association? This is clearly bad management. If they took public funds, they don't necessarily own the building outright...so, I say yank them as the manager. I also think it's interesting that this building can't even have normal parking in front of it due to the high crime levels. Absolute dribble.

Re: “At Zoo Bar, a different kind of Royals watch party

@JD River: We thought it would be a fun exercise to watch this particular game at bars in town not necessarily associated with sports-watching. I went to Zoo Bar. Another writer went to Missy B's and the Isle of Capri. Another writer went to The Well, a more traditional sports bar in Waldo. At no point did we discuss whether readers like JD River would "think [we] were cool now." I hope this clarifies matters for you.

Rot in hell,

Re: “At Zoo Bar, a different kind of Royals watch party

I agree with @skinny jeans. You were only there to observe what type of people would go to a place you normally wouldn't be caught dead at. You went in to watch the game? Quit it! Are we supposed to think you're cool now?

Re: “For Royals fans, it all ended well at the Well on Wednesday

PJ, seriously? Way to take the shine off an article about people getting together to watch a game by submitting your ultra too cool for school super hipster agenda.

Let's not confuse The Well with PnL... its really not very douchy. Is any place that has a window and more than 4 regular customers at anytime just all that terrible? People should go to a bar to be miserable and quite where they sit around sulking about people who choose to be happy and have fun. "Ugh, people who try to have fun just don't get life, man"

Re: “At Zoo Bar, a different kind of Royals watch party

@skinny jeans tiny dicks etc.:

There's nothing ironic about this post. I went to Zoo Bar to watch the game and wrote about it. Maybe you are bringing some of your personal baggage to this thread? Maybe you should get over your insecurity about not being as cool as you think hipsters think they are?

I wear 501s, for the record.

Re: “At Zoo Bar, a different kind of Royals watch party

I love how embracing awful things is cool for hipsters. Before you know it they will all be living in a terrible suburb like Gardner because it would be deemed "ironic" by The Pitch.

Enjoy the confines of the Zoo Bar - I'll be enjoying the game at a place where people are happy to be alive.
