I'm a fan of Thai House down south.

I love this place, the staff and owners. Wishing them well whether they're moving, remodeling, relocating or watching TV at home. <3

Re: “Black Missouri drivers 75 percent more likely to be stopped by police than white drivers, new report from attorney general finds

The point is "Bob" that if they quit contributing disproportionately to the crime rate, maybe they won't be disproportionately targeted.

Re: “Update: Thai Place in Westport closed for good

I was just there Saturday!!! It was busy as usual and the staff have no appearance that they would no longer be open. Very unfortunate!!! Their groupon deals were the best!

Gareth Algore (Geez, another troll name), what does the statistic about blacks committing murder have to do with traffic stops? You just pushed the racism button, big time. Black=crime. I sincerely hope you aren't a police officer. Pull people over because there is a visible violation...only.

The glass mugs are still there at Mugs Up. Indeed, it's pretty much the same as it was more than 50 years ago.

Re: “Update: Thai Place in Westport closed for good

Oh dang. We actually drove to Westport last night, hoping for Thai, and saw the sign on the door. Ended up at McCoy's instead. Really sad about Thai Place, though. I loved their small-plate nights.

Gareth,

Read the internet and pull your head out of your ass. Blacks are 13% of the population and commit 52% of all murders. Of course they get stopped more - they commit crimes at a much higher rate than whites.

Re: “Boulevard's Imperial Stout X Aztec Chocolate hits KC stores this week

Too bad the tropical isn't coming out in the summer and the Aztec chocolate in the fall.

Re: “Update: Thai Place in Westport closed for good

The quality at this location had decreased dramatically recently. KC really needs a good thai restaurant. I haven't been to Thai Place on 87th in ages, but they used to be really good.

Hot Basil Thai is DIRTY. So many bugs in that place.

Read the article, genius. Whites are actually more likely to be carrying contraband.

Re: “Update: Thai Place in Westport closed for good

The last time I went the service was so awful that we left. Prior to that, the food seemed to go down in quality each time we ordered. Midtown needs a good, affordable Thai place. Even better if it delivers.

Oh, man, that's terrible! Nice location, good Thai (not the best in town but certainly good), and a comfortable, casual atmosphere. Unfortunate. :(

Hot Basil is excellent! I always thought Thai Place was so-so.

Re: “Update: Thai Place in Westport closed for good

There's still Thai Place on 87th in Lenexa. Also, Wai Wai Thai in OP is delicious too. I think the branch on 87th has better food anyway and the staff are awesome there. The Thai Place on Westport has changed over the years and the food was never quite as tasty anymore. That's just my opinion. #JustSaying
