Re: “Nick and Jake's on Main: a location with a curse, a menu with potential, servers with an itch

The food is bland. That is OK. Inasmuch as it is an arbitrary culinary strategy by the owners. The quality of service is almost non existent. Not OK. That is the fault of management. The people running the front of the house do not know what they are doing. They do not have a concept of "service". That is a tragedy. I will bet this place this time next year, will be a chinese laundry.

To Wally: you are irrational !

Elizabeth Snyder just dethroned fake Craig Glazer as my favorite Pitch blog poster. Best. Words. Ever.

hahaha.....Charles the fact you responded to my comment within 4 hours proves my point exactly. You show no sensitivity when you trash a new restaurant but boy are you hypersensitive when a commenter takes issue with your opinion. You can certainly dish it out but you cant take it. Wally

ginney wore horrible dresses and was fat and mean. she would hit me because I did not want to be her friend. I did my best because my mom made me but it was scarey I always thought she might kill me. back then parents didn't think that was possible

I've been reading Charles for more years than I can recall, and I've never seen him "denigrate those who disagree with him," although I've enjoyed watching him slap down a troll from time to time. It would appear some of the trolls still suffer great butthurt over this.

When I was a kid, this sort of thing was called "usury" and could get you jail time.

Re: “Remembering Putsch's 210

t Tmy mom and Virginia putch were best friends judd was the best salesman ever . my first kiss when I was 5 was from billy putch. my mom was so upset she called ginny and she thought it was cute. Virginia did the backbreaking work in that resterant. judd and Virginias twins were raised by a black woman. they were adopted. they say ginny had the worst abuse before the putches adopted them. amazing place to eat but when I was young that violinist bothered me it was like I had to like it and I was glad when he left our table. iremember the heated toilet seats. that was awesome. when Virginia hurt her back and got on pills for the pain no one understood her strange behavior bet they would today. my mother knew because my dad was a dr. for the record she was the brains and workhorse that made putches work. judd as nice as he was was a gladhand. I do wonder why they ever adopted those children?

Re: “Nick and Jake's on Main: a location with a curse, a menu with potential, servers with an itch

"... and trying to learn what the area is looking for" -- I haven't been to Nick & Jake's and so have no opinion on the restaurant. But this quote from a previous response shows the problem with a lot of places in Kansas City. Stop trying to learn "what the area is looking for" and cook some food that you are passionate about.

To "Wally:" I rarely comment under my own Cafe reviews and I did not, until now, make any comments -- under my name or any other -- under this review.

Re: “Nica's Lagniappe Cajun Kitchen has closed for good

Oh yeah, and they didn't even have a bidet, which is pretty much a necessity for me when I get a case of the poo poo softies.

@lissaplazakc Did you even read her response? It was nothing but positive and responsive, rather than merely reactive to the review. In 2014 a brand being interactive with social media is not bad form but on occasion an absolute necessity. Try reading more carefully next time before posting a condemnation full of inaccuracies.

I get mini-burps if there is too much sauce. My poo poo is too soft and I have to miss work sometimes.

Better no law than a bad one. I hope they keep pushing for a fair law that thwarts these legal loan sharks.
