I've been going to BB's Lawnside Barbeque since it opened in 1990 and have always enjoyed myself while I was there. Great barbeque, great selection of beer, and great live blues.
You couldn't have picked a better place for burnt ends than LC's. I don't know about the fatty part though.........I've had burnt ends there MANY times and they have never been fatty
I Love Zocalo!!!!!! Drink and food ROCK!
This list tells you a lot about the Readers of the Pitch, but then again they all voted for Oblame-Ya too! No wonder they are going to spend millions of dollars on a trolley system that travels 2.5 miles to transport drunks around the P&L district while the City's infrastructure crumbles and the school system is still unaccredited.
So very true. Live nearby and have taken our not-quite-two-year-old son there several times for breakfast. The servers are always welcoming, amazing, and very (VERY) fast with orange slices, extra napkins, pancakes, etc. We probably leave more of a mess than others, but we always leave more tip for it and for their super kindness.
Jeanine is an amazing PiYo instructor and teaches several other formats!! Come take her BODYPUMP, PiYo, Zumba or Boot camp classes, she will change your life!!
Best Non-Profit www.CaveSpring.org A 36 acre nature and historic site on the corner of Gregory & Blue Ridge Blvd.
Oh...these results are painful. Have the people filling out these ballots actually BEEN to Kansas City? Starbucks with the best coffee?? Mission Bowl with the 2nd best burger?! Texas Roadhouse as the 2nd best steak joint?!? I'm shocked to see that Pizza Hut didn't make into the top 3 for pizza places. Maybe next year, guys!
Can the future of this poll be limited to local (read: not chains) Kansas City area restaurants? I'm 100% sure that we could find a dozen locally owned restaurants that put out better meals than Houston's or Old Chicago.
At least The Pitch puts together an ACTUAL list of "Best Of" honorees that are worth reading through.
Best place to meet single women @ Kansas City Roller Warriors matches??? I take it this isn't catering to single men looking for single women. Some butchy women at the derbys
Barley's doesn't even brew. Pitch, can you filter out the obvious bullshit votes next year? It would be a shame if a potential tourist actually made decisions when dining out based on the Reader's Choice winners. KC already has a reputation for being flyover country as it is. There is no need to perpetuate that false assumption.
I could NOT agree more about this pick! LOVE ME SOME NIECIES!!
It's good to see "The Blind Guy" recognized by The Pitch "Best of" 2012.
It is still shady. I went there a couple weeks ago with a friend and 3 girls. It was mostly dead, probably 6 other people in there. We're just standing around drinking off the the back side of the dance floor. All of a sudden 3 guys, much older too, swoop in and start grinding on the girls Night at the Roxbury style. After they kindly told them they weren't interested one of them actually followed one of the girls in our party INTO the bathroom. She came running out, and we left.
Fuck the Gusto. Rape bar.
Did you guys vote? Because I don't think you get to complain if you didn't vote.
You guys are dumbfucks. This gym is not a 24-hour gym! GFY
The other comments are right, but the Pitch was right that this was the win of the year for KC. :-) Here is a terrific video produced by the league that captures the excitement and emotion of the whole evening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0zBKtfAZCA
Best Place to...

...go with a group of friends
...go with your family
...have a business lunch
...have a business meeting
...get takeout
...etc...
Pho Hoa works for all!
Re: “Best Burnt Ends”
I think LC's is the best bang for the buck for BBQ in KC.
