Besides the fact that I was being molested by a drunk girl on my right, this was such an amazing experience. The first concert I've been to where I had the privilege of being in the very front. I wasn't disappointed in the least. In fact, it was better than any studio recording. Romy and Oliver have great stage chemistry and their voices were so clear and sincere, Jamie's remixes and other percussion bits were dope and the light show was definitely a bonus. You could tell they were so grateful for the crowd's positive chanting toward the end. That encore was unavoidable.
Oh, and the opening act - Hundred Waters - was also great. Nicole Miglis can sang! How often does one enjoy both the opening and the main act?!
Glad you finally caught on to Gee Watts.
Shame that groups still feel the need to move out of the area. You'd think that Appleseed Cast would have shown everyone that it doesn't matter where you're based out of if you tour enough and get your music out there through the internet. Oh well, the scene isn't very supportive or expansive so I can't blame them. I'm just tired of losing talented musicians to Austin, Portland and Brooklyn. Probably similar story in a lot of cities though.
Well...Doc ....if you don't mind paying .05 ea for a stringbean with your $20 steak-by all means keep those nasty aliens and refugees out-you dum bass.
It's great that the Corner is back. The food is good and the place never looked better. A little more sausage and pepper in the gravy and it would match the Corner in its golden years. But "savvy, cheery servers"? Not on our first two visits, where the items on the breakfast orders from three people were confused the first time. On the second, the waitress couldn't be bothered to take our order, then spent more time chatting with coworkers than tending her tables. It's nice to hire cool people, but they should be taught what they are there for.
but what if i need to poop i hope you have a good lawyer bmo harris.

No & No - Just A Waldo Drinker/Drunk
Being a massive chilli head, I have eaten whole raw Bhut Jolokias, as well as Trinidad Moruga Scorpions. If a habanero or scotch bonnet is like your mouth is burning and your eyes are watering, then the Bhut Jolokia is so hot you can't breathe and a tiny demon is slowly flaying your mouth and moving its way to your esophagus. The Trinidad Moruga feels like you took molten lava, placed it in your mouth and held it for the duration, while you chew and swallow razors dipped in some sort of high concentration hydrochloric acid.
It is a searing experience, but like a heroin junkie chasing their next fix, as a chilli head I'm always up for hot food. Researchers see similar neurochemical responses in drug users and when eating chillis.
That guy top row left looks like Frank n Furter.
I doubt that they will pause between songs to wax nostalgia about a gang rape they committed.
Im dusting off my mullet wig and stick on confederate flag tattoos as im typing this.
I don't think my b-hole could handle the ghost chili.
So PotBelly, Firehouse, WichWich, Planet Sub all within a pretty narrow radius.
Who is closing first?
^^^ How dare you. Which wich is the bomb shit diggity
I love ghost chilis. The ghost chili salsa at Traqueros is amazing. So good, but soooo hot.
Crossfit is a trip. Having 14ish years experience with free weight and circuit training, bulk and cut, all that... lifting anything heavy in a hurry was a recipe for injury. Flipping tires, hitting things with sledgehammers and doing those fish flopping chin-ups... dunno. Seems like another Tae-bo, P90X, Insanity, Zumba craze. The weight room has been pretty static for some time, I think I'll stick to that.
I applaud anyone trying to get into shape and I'll say its fun to watch the chicks compete in the comps on ESPN.

Re: “Chuy's: Will it become the new Annie's Santa Fe?”
Any of you who think what we get on the Boulevard is somehow "authentic" Mexican need to adjust your focus. I've had more crappy or mediocre so-called Mexican here in KC than anywhere else I've travelled. About the only place on the Boulevard that is remotely authentic Mexican is Poco's.
Tex-Mex is not authentic Mexican, it's a hybrid, and Chuy's does a good job of serving up some tasty dishes.
