Re: “Peanches drops its reservation-only policy

I know some great food photographers I can send in to take pictures of the food for you. Just kidding Pete. You are growing on me and I am going to have to come in and taste this food of yours.

Re: “Kansas City streetcar still in litigation limbo

failing schools that can't even get accredited, crumbling infrastructure, ridiculously high crime, kids rampaging on the plaza and westport terrorizing citizens (even fired off guns while the mayor was down there to act like he had it under control), the east side of KCMO is nicknamed murder city and the Mayor wants to build new basketball courts so parents of wannabe thugs can have the city baby sit their spawn, and the jackwagon Mayor and a handful of idiots in the P&L District want to spend 100million dollars on a streetcar that makes a 4 mile loop.

Re: “Peanches drops its reservation-only policy

We took 15 walk-ins this weekend and no one received an attitude. As for the pricing our courses average is 8 each with a $4 wine pairing I'm sorry if you feel like it's outrageous. We sell lobster (4 oz portion with our cost at $18 per pound)for $11 and foie gras for $10( a 3 oz portion our cost $32 per pound). If I had a dime for when everyone told me I was sleeping with someone because of a positive write ups I'd be living on a private island in the south somewhere. In the beginning we took walk-ins, we offered free cocktails if they would wait at the bar until we could take them, people became enraged because they would see an empty table and storm out. So we stopped taking walk-ins. In the time we were reservations required 90% of the walk-ins has special dietary restrictions we couldn't handle with a prix fixe without 48 hours notice. Now we offer a limited a'la cart to try to make accommodations them. We are still unable to handle vegans. If a pescaterian walks-in and expect a four course prix fixe we still won't be able to offer that menu to them. It's hard to take people serious we they make assumptions about our food by just looking a menu not visually seeing it on the plate.

Re: “Tyler Deaton, husband of homicide victim Bethany Deaton, finds work teaching; Google-using students get him suspended

Having know briefly known him in college, I'm convinced that he had his wife killed, and also engaged in all of the crazy cult forming and gay-sex-for-God things he has also been implicated for. The fact that he tried to become a teacher after being ousted from his role as a cult leader in KC makes me wonder what his intentions were. Was he trying to gain the confidence of other young people who's trust he could take advantage of? Was he trying to start another cult? Was he trying to ultimately molest these kids?? I dont know, but I suspect that he was.

Re: “Kansas City streetcar still in litigation limbo

this thing was a sham to begin with. the city created a special voting class so they could get it passed. Sleight of Hand James should have been recalled over this phony deal. This deal spends hundreds of millions of dollars of tax money on a streetcar to haul drunks around the middle of city, where they already have busses, taxis, limo's and trolley cars available. it's a complete sham and boondoggle.

Re: “Peanches drops its reservation-only policy

Because whenever there is a story on Peanches, it receives at least a dozen comments and far higher than average views as people watch the comment section.

Re: “Polski Day: the first rainy one in ten years?

Willie, you forgot W.I.P.(White Irish Protestant) day, too.

A good friend of mine is Polish. His mom made these little Polish burritos with cabbage and pork that were to die for. If you smelled them in the oven, it was real hard not to stick around and wait for them come out.

Re: “Potbelly Sandwich Shop is coming to Overland Park

@bart. mention that Potbelly is coming to a Chicagoan and they lose their minds just like Kansas Citians did at the beginning of the Google Fiber craze.

Re: “The Orion Building, part of Kansas City's historic Film Row, is razed

i bet a dollar all these whiners complaining about "saving" this building don't live in a mud hut or a teepee. Why did you tear down all those historic homes to build that trailer you live in?

Re: “The Golden Ox: still no bull

I love to travel and especially find unique places to enjoy a decent and perhaps a memorable meal, however I do enjoy a smoke with my meal and was wondering if I could do so at your establishment, It seems like I can no longer spend decadent amounts of money in our once great country to just simply enjoy a meal and a smoke, please fill me in because I am willing to travel the 600 miles from Wi. if it is a possibility,

Re: “Peanches drops its reservation-only policy

Why does the Pitch seem to have a monthly update on what is going on at Peanches? In this article the owner has gone out of his way to assure you that he will probably have an attitude with you and you can expect poor service if you show up without a reservation. So nothing has changed. Surely there are thousands of more noteworthy events/changes going on in Kansas City area restaurants!
