Re: “Some local updates regarding tiny houses

That was a great comment about Prairie Village. Considering all the houses there are "tiny" and go for way too much money, I'd say don't build one there. It will cost way more in PV than in most other places.

Re: “Best Grass

I like to come in for bird seed, peanuts, sunflower seeds. Reminds me of my Grandma's grocery store in the middle of Kansas with its wooden floors. It's an antique.

Re: “Billy Ocean's Alien Lanes, or WTF is going on in "Loverboy"?

I absolutely love this video as a kid. But I also never understood what it had to do with the actual song. I thought it was just about a man who rescued in his sweetheart from an evil guy. So I guess if you look at it, too, the lyrics do play with the visuals, if you examine them closing, but then again, at the time the song was released George Lucas has released a final chapter of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and that was his huge back then. So yeah it make sense and plus Dark Crystal was a huge thing as were puppet based movies and special effects. They were are really big in the 80's like CGI is today. so the video does make sense. you just have to been growing up during that time as I was. I was about 14 or 15 at the time.

Re: “Beck gave a sold-out Starlight audience something to party about last night (country legend Willie Nelson was there, too)

What a show! With Willie performing in the daylight and people still shuffling around it made him feel like an opening act instead of a co-headliner, and honestly not many artists could pull off a shared twin billing with what Beck delivered. It was beautiful to see them duet, but sad to see Willie reading the words to an old standard and faltering slightly, especially on hearing ohe news of B B King that day. Time indeed passes on and I'm so glad I was there.

Re: “What's the most racist city in Missouri?

Fedup takes a simple minded approach to a complicated problem. Education does provide a gateway to self improvement, but when the poor consistently are provided substandard educational opportunities, it's almost impossible to get ahead, break down barriers or have hope. Fed up, I'm saddened that for your travels, you haven't seen anything. As a higher education professional I see everyday how the poor are impeded. I hope you learn to think more broadly and realize that your comments are indeed racist.

Linda and Victor....Very late response. This news makes all of KC very sad. We adored your food. I know that you made every effort to keep the restaurant successful. I will of course miss the food but most of all your warm polite service that you provided to all of your customers. Chris

Re: “Hallmark cares enough to send the very best ... jobs to China

Does anyone know how many Hallmark employees committed suicide?
Fact

Re: “Hallmark's Hairball: A Former Artist Told How He Didn't Get Sucked Down Its Drain

I wonder how he died? Sadly I have a source that revealed several Hallmark Artists committed suicide. One of them was a top well respected and loved Artist with a high position who was let go from the company to be replaced with a new comer that would get less pay and benefits. Sadly this Artist went from being a somebody to a nobody at the hands of working for the corporate hierarchy "Hallmark" Of course you will never hear about how Hallmark after Mr. Hall died turned into a place that ball and chained their employees signing agreements and disclosures to never speak out about the company and how badly they disrespected and mistreated their Artists over the years. How many little card companies they have bought out to be on top, leaving Artists without jobs. One small company actually won a lawsuit. Imagine Hallmark lost with all their Billions. Enough said

Re: “Can the tiny-house movement grow big in Kansas City?

Not nocking anyone just never understood why buy a trailer frame and build something on it when the RV folks got it figured out already. Why not get an aluminum framed RV or one with a fiberglass body and just use it?

My house was 900 SF until I put on the straw bale addition to add bathrooms and bedrooms. Multi generations live in it now it is close to 2000 sf. 5 adults and 3 teenagers. Thinking about getting a small trailer camper ( less than 20 feet and under 3000 pounds) for traveling and living in during winters. I like the KC area in summer but I am about done with winters . Thinking about taking the wife down to Panama next winter.

Re: “Ferret chews off seven fingers of sleeping 4-month-old baby

I am a Black woman and have owned a ferret in the past. I currently own a seven month old ferret and am looking to get another so he could have company. Don't make this a race issue. Just because ferrets look a certain way doesn't make them vicious animals. That's like saying all black and Hispanic men are dangerous because of how they look. Ferrets aren't rodents first of all. They can be great pets if raised with love. I personally don't let people touch or be around my ferret because the ratchet bitches in my area suffer from mental retardation and a terrible case of ignorance. Plus I don't wanna catch a case because someone handled him the wrong way and bit them. Please don't be fuckin stupid. Ferrets are exotic animals and have special needs. If neglected or if they're not nip trained their bites can cause damage.

Re: “Prominent Missouri Republicans have a knack for self-immolating; John Diehl is the latest example [UPDATE: Diehl resigns]

kcjoe,

Buy yourself and someone you love a steak from Anton's. I'm not going to let myself be influenced by politics or steak dinners. Critical and pointed stories in The Pitch on Democrats don't end with LeBlanc or Barone. Others in the distant AND recent past would include Kathryn Shields, Jay Nixon, Kansas Democrats more broadly and on and on.

All of which ignores the larger point. We seek out the news and analysis, regardless of political persuasion.

Thanks for reading,
