Re: “Tumbleweed Warriors, the Family Bed

It is the Tumbleweed Wanderers not Warriors. Can you correct? Thanks!

Re: “Atlas, Doing What Apes Can't, the Holdaways

Tired of those expensive local shows? Have we got a deal for you. For one easy payment of 1 dollar you will be granted access to the sounds of the city at Czar Bar.

Chase Horseman, of Towers, will be kicking off the evening with his doc martin boots. The Holdaways will be debuting their new name and bath robes. After that, Doing What Apes Can't will take you on a wild tour of exotic herpetology and dendrology with bass lines that will leave you wondering...am I really alive? Was Calvin & Hobbes a documentary? After you gain consciousness, you will have the choice to stick around and listen to ATLAS at 9PM. A band that really has no clue what they're doing. If you stay past 9pm you're actually losing money so it's your choice.

What a great deal! Also...the booze is dirt cheap ($1). Come hang with us on a good ol' fashion Tuesday night in Kansas City. Event starts at 6 and ends at 10.

Re: “Prestige Poker League

Lots of fun, friendly people, well organized game. I'm a new player and i was welcomed by everyone and even got lots of helpful instruction on how to play. While i didn't win, they had 5 tables and the winner was awarded $50 cash, and it was free to play... I'm so looking forward to play again, and now they have Thursdays & Sundays too.

Re: “Laura Lisbeth's songwriter night with Gerry Monks, Gregory Canseco and Jason Beers

This really sucked! It's obvious that Laura is slumming with the short, fat, unmannered mexican. I feel sorry for her to have stooped that low.

Re: “Ed Asner as FDR

Was a great show! Ed Asner as FDR was incredibly funny, heartwarming and tearjerking at moments. The audiences gasp as he spoke on the phone hearing first hand that Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor....made it feel like the audience was there. The final scene....left everyone there knowing more about the man and his true feelings for his family and his job as president. And seeing him there where he graduated from in 1947 (I myself having graduated from there 30 years ago this year), made it the more memorable.

The Paul Shinn Trio is an amazingly talented jazz trio. Absolutely worth listening to the cool jazz played by these extremely gifted musicians!

Re: “Matt Otto Quintet

My husband and I from Topeka, are always looking for unique good music. We decided to give Matt Otto a try, we liked what we heard on you tube. At first the drummer, the trumpeter, and the alto sax just seemed like they had a hard time connecting. The meshing and the communicating was not there. Like a car that has a hard time getting started. But by the second set, it finally came together. It was really good. The drummer calmed down, all the horns blended. We were really enjoying it. Sorry to say we had to leave before the third set. I would have loved to hear how it most likely was awesome by that time. That is why I give them a 3 1/2. Individually everyone showed their own talents. The keyboard player, the bass player both very good. The guest players were exceptional. For all the solo parts everyone would get 5 stars individually from me.

Re: “ReelSmart Trivia

With the closing of the Screenland Crossroads Theater, ReelSmart Trivia is now officially on hiatus. We're searching for a new venue and will be sure to notify you when we're back in action. Thanks so much to Jason, Bonnie, and Kyle at the Screenland Crossroads for giving us a home and to all of our loyal players for playing the game. We look forward to seeing where we all end up next!
