I'm all about public transportation. I, however, am not all about getting felt up by drunk guys going to or leaving P&L, and I worry that's what the KC Strip will become. I'll happily wait a little longer for The MAX, and spend the $13.50 I saved on some good food.
I think a restaurant will have to take over the space. They're never going to get that greasy smell out of the walls.
I always put Sriracha in my bloody Marys!
Re: “Why doesn't Kansas City have more food trucks?”
One of the main reasons we don't really have a need for food trucks (even if many of us have the desire for them) is that this city isn't exactly pedestrian heavy. Food trucks are successful in places where people are constantly walking by, and get lured in by the smell of shawarma, pork tacos or roasted nuts. And except for a few areas of the city, during a few specific hours, Kansas City doesn't really have the need. It's possible that I love taco trucks more than anyone in the world especially after I've had a few drinks but until there's SUV parking at the taco trailer or people start taking public transportation and walking more, food trucks probably don't have much of a future in Kansas City.
